I hadn't played this game in so long that I had completely mixed up parts of it with Mega Man 3 in my mind. When I fell down the tunnel with the water and the spikes on the side walls I expected that to end in a different boss fight for some reason. I remember in Mega Man 1 and 3 you fight a Mega Man clone eventually, but forgot that you don't in Mega Man 2. At least I remembered what to do against the final boss. ~ Remember: FIRST you pillage, THEN you burn! status offlineCLOUDBOND007 #3 [-] avatar Posts: 12604 (02/28/10 1:59 PM) Lunitari Mage Moderator * Reply * Quote * Edit * Del * More o My Recent Posts o Message Me o Blocking o Ignore User's Posts o Show/Hide User's Posts o Ban o Manage o Hide Turnabout Airlines was case #2 and it was fairly long. I was satisfied by the level of complexity at this stage of the game, but not really that wowed by any of the supporting characters or the villain. They were OKAY but that's really all. I basically like the system of connecting Edgeworth's theories, and they're starting to get a little bit more complex to solve, too. You lose health when you get one wrong and the overall difficulty is pretty decent. The Kidnapped Turnabout, case #3 began with me screwing up several times because I didn't have all the info yet. #3 is introducing at least two major new characters and their development will probably be key to enjoying the rest of the story but it's notable that every case seems to be highly interrelated. Although they aren't exactly cases so much as terrible situations Miles gets himself dragged into when he's minding his own business. What's sort of cool about the fact that there are no courtroom scenes is that the game can flip between investigation and testimony at basically any time, so the flow of the game is sometimes less predictable. There are plenty of subtle and not so subtle references to past characters like Wendy Oldbag, the guy who talks in l33t speak, that bald prosecutor who's name I can't remember (nor can Miles) as well as to Phoenix himself and others. There's also more stuff with the Blue Badger and of course you have Gumshoe as a main returning character as well as another larger cameo that isn't THAT special (but I don't want to ruin it) and another returning character that IS a little more special. Phoenix is still practicing because Edgeworth or someone says earlier in the game "If you're that eager to take me on in court, I know a certain lawyer I could introduce you to." I've beaten the first set of level and am on the second set's boss. It's hard for me to explain where I am because the game doesn't have names for the levels, but I think I'm around 40% or so. I think there are 4 or 5 sets of levels, but there could be more. This game is weird. The controls are all stylus based, with no option to switch to button input controls. The touchscreen controls are fairly responsive, but still get annoying and take some getting used to. The presentation seems very lackluster, like the game isn't quite finished. The backgrounds look alright, but the characters are blocky and nondescript and there is a grand total of 4 enemy types, not counting bosses. The music isn't so much music as very repetitive and unpleasant ambience. The game just feels really unpolished. The bosses are complete jokes. It takes forever to figure out how to beat them, and even then I don't really know what I did to hurt them. The frame-rate slows to a crawl during these bosses. Worst of all, there's no challenge: if you lose all your health, you just get it refilled! That is ridiculous! It's all a shame, because the game does seem rather promising aside from its many faults. The level design is fairly clever and they do some interesting things with the touchscreen controls. Oh, and the full title is Prince of Persia: The Fallen King. "People who don't Think probably don't have Brains; rather, they have grey fluff that is blown into their heads by mistake. Turns out the stage I decided to skip a would have unlocked something that would have helped me in every stage. I decided to go back through and get a few OCD tags. I have 295 goo blobs of "excess." I don't know if there's anything else I can do at World of Goo outside of trimming down the massive 20-meter tower I've built, but apparently there is something I'm building towards. Spirit Tracks - I have been playing the Goron cannon game trying to get treasure together. I pulled enough to buy the Golden Engine, part of the final train set, but I still need a ton of pearl necklaces to get the rest of the parts (including the Honey Cannon, which I'm short on by two necklaces). If I didn't get the sneaking suspicion that I'll want as many train hearts as possible, I'd head for the final boss. Last Edited By: Bomberguy221 03/01/10 4:29 AM. Storywise, I'm kind of underwhelmed but there have been more appearances by familiar characters from previous games. Case #4, Turnabout Reminiscence seems like it might be a real treat. The only clue I'll give is that it doesn't take place in the current timeframe and features a character I thought I'd never see again (that isn't Phoenix). I tried out the WiiWare game Chronos Twin DX, which is apparently a port of a DS game where you play as the same dude in both the past and the present, and thus they both face different obstacles at the same time. It's an interesting idea, but so far has been pretty unexciting (though I'm only at level 3). I made a little more progress in Symphony of the Night, beating the werewolf and big ox axe fella and got the mist ability. I also tried out the Left 4 Dead 2 demo and I know for certain I'll have to pick one of those up eventually. And finally, I started and finished another WiiWare game, Water Warfare, which is a cutesy water pistol FPS that's a quirky little distraction. I was hoping to try an online deathmatch so I could judge all parts of it for the Games I Own review, but no luck. [edit] Beat Jabu-Jabu's Belly anyway. It's not too bad, but both bosses are quite distinctly unenjoyable. Last Edited By: Ragey0 03/01/10 4:23 PM. Guards! Overall it was pretty good. It deals with a new set of characters from any of the previous seven books, and they're all great. Okay, the Patrician was in Sourcery, but all he seemed to do was get turned into a lizard. He's a lot better developed here. The writing was also top tier. One really nice touch is the way Lady Ramkin treats the little dragons like dogs, like telling Vimes to hit the old one with a pillow if he's being a pest as he drools acid into Vimes' crotch. Yet more cameos and some pretty direct referencing of PW3 that places the game pretty solidly in the same year, shortly after PW3. According to a timeline on Wikipedia made using the dates given in the games, this might actually be set only a few weeks before Phoenix gets disbarred as seen in the Apollo Justice flashback case. The writers seem determined not to use the name Phoenix Wright in dialogue even if it makes the sentences sound strange. It's always "him" or "that man" when it's about Nick. I'm almost positive now that I'm going to replay the first game on WiiWare once I'm done here. Probably an inferior experience but the price is right. But even that might not be necessary. If there is some thing that always distinguishes important stuff, then the archiving could be automated. Like, it says, "status online" or "status offline" before a person's name (if you directly paste the topics into notepad). So, I could write a BASIC script to look for those tags and use them as a basis for automating the process.
