The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Gold Skulltulas

Find and defeat Gold Skulltulas to earn tokens. By earning enough tokens, you can break the curse on the family in the House of Skulltula in Kakariko Village to earn rewards.

There's a walk-through wall in the Bottom of the Well that leads to a small crypt room with a Gold Skulltula. If you're having trouble finding it, wait until you get the Lens of Truth, which can reveal fake walls.

There's a room in the well that has several Keese flying around a large pit in the middle. If you use the Lens of Truth in here, you will reveal a hidden pathway. Walk along the hidden path to an alcove with a Gold Skulltula.

In the room with the Like Like and a small treasure chest, there is a Gold Skulltula on the back wall.

At the entrance of the Death Mountain Crater (on the very top of Death Mountain), roll into the crate that's right near the start. A Gold Skulltula will pop out.

After you get the Bolero of Fire as adult Link, warp to the Fire Temple entrance as young Link and drop a bottled bug into the sandy square patch that's just near the warp pad. They'll force out a Gold Skulltula as they burrow into it.

After you blow away the boulders in front of Dodongo's Cavern, drop a bottled bug into the square of soft sand just inside the entrance. The bugs will force a Gold Skulltula out after they've buried themselves in the hole.

Just outside of Kakariko Village, there is a wall that is very obviously breakable. You should be able to hear the sound of a Gold Skulltula crawling around behind it. Blow it open with a bomb and use the boomerang to get the token.

As Adult Link, run up towards the summit of Death Mountain at night and you'll find a Gold Skulltula along the right wall (when facing towards the climbable cliff).

Remember that spot where you grabbed a Bomb Flower to throw down and blow open the entrance to Dodongo's Cavern? Check that spot as Adult Link at night. There's a boulder that can only be destroyed with the Megaton Hammer. Pound it and you'll reveal a Gold Skulltula on the wall behind it.

At night, there will be a Gold Skulltula on a palm tree near the desert oasis.

Plant a Magic Bean near the entrance of the Spirit Temple as young Link and use the bean sprout as adult Link to float over the surrounding area. At night, one of the plateaus it passes over will have a gold spider on it. Jump off and attack it!

As young Link, drop a bottled bug into the sandy patch near the Spirit Temple entrance. A Gold Skulltula will be forced out. Take care of it.

In Dodongo's Cavern, in the room with the large staircase with the row of Bomb Flowers at the base of it, climb up the stairs and look for some vines near the top. There is a normal Skulltula and a Gold Skulltula on the vines. Kill them with your slingshot and climb the vines to get the token.

There's a small room in Dodongo's Cavern where you can find a Gold Skulltula on a wall behind an Armos Statue.

There's a small room you can bomb open off of one of the long twisty corridors. At the back of the room is a Gold Skulltula on the wall, surrounded by a bunch of bats.

Return to Dodongo's Cavern as adult Link. In one of the long twisty corridors, there's an upper ledge where Navi will fly up and turn green. Play the Scarecrow's Song and use the Hookshot to get up to that ledge. You'll find a Gold Skulltula on the wall.

In the room with the huge staircase that can be bombed down to the floor, there is an alcove at the top above the stairs. As adult Link, aim the Longshot into that alcove from one of the bridges on the sides of the room. There is a Gold Skulltula in there - aim carefully to get it. (I purposefully showed the token in lieu of the spider for my screenshot because it's brighter against the background. The spider was almost undetectable in my shot.)

In the big central room of the Fire Temple (the room with the broken rope bridge spanning it), you'll find a ledge with one of those blue boxes that can be moved by playing the Song of Time. Moving it will allow you to reach the upper door. That door leads to a green tiled room with a Gold Skulltula on the back wall.

There's a room in the Fire Temple with a lot of walls and boulders that becomes an overhead view when you're on the floor. Run along the outer walls of this room until you hear the sound of a Gold Skulltula crawling around. Bomb open the wall to find it.

Eventually you'll come to another Fire Temple room that has green tiles, some of which fly off the floor to attack you. Behind the Like Like enemy, on the wall, is another Gold Skulltula.

There's an area of the Fire Temple that I like to call the "Top Secret Area". When you're in the "boulder maze" room, you'll need to be up on top of the walls. At one point while you're running around on top of the walls, Navi will fly up to a ledge in a corner and turn green. Use the Scarecrow's Song here to cause Pierre to show up. Hookshot to him and from there, hookshot to a ring over on a small platform. This platform will rise up to the "Top Secret Area". While exploring this area, you'll find a Gold Skulltula on a chain fence that's used to climb a wall.

At the end of the Top Secret Area is a circular room with a treasure chest that's surrounded by flames. On the inside wall of this room is a Gold Skulltula you can easily get with your hookshot.

In the very first room of the Forest Temple, climb up the vines on the side wall, and you'll find a Gold Skulltula at the top. Get off the vines, stand on the tree trunk, and use your hookshot to take care of it.

The the big foyer room of the Forest Temple, go up the stairs to the door at the back, and turn to the right. A Gold Skulltula is across from it on the wall in the darkness. (It's right below the green button with the sword in my screenshot, though I realize it's hard to see.) Use your hookshot again.

The eastern courtyard area of the Forest Temple has an "island" with a small treasure chest on it. Hookshot to the treasure chest to get up to the island, and then use the hookshot again to kill a Gold Skulltula on a nearby wall.

There's a ledge in the western courtyard area with several refill hearts on top of it. Eventually, you will be able to get to this ledge from a room above. Walk out to the very end and aim your hookshot at the wall in front of it. There's a Gold Skulltula crawling on the vines there.

After you take the elevator down to the bottom of the Forest Temple, you'll be in a room where you can push the wall to spin it around. This will cause various doorways in the walls to open up to you. One of the hidden doorways has a Gold Skulltula behind it, so just keep pushing the wall until the right entrance opens up.

Outside Ganon's Castle, you will find the ruins of the archway that once marked the entrance to Hyrule Castle. A Gold Skulltula can be found crawling around on the back of it. Use your hookshot to kill it and retrive the medallion.

Take the chicken near the entrance of Gerudo Valley and leap off the bridge. Guide your descent to a ledge far, far down below. On that ledge is a soft square of sand near a Gerudo woman and a cow. Dump a bottled bug down the sand patch and you'll get another Skulltula.

At the entrance to Gerudo Valley, there is a wooden plank that bridges a gap and if you look to the right (when facing into the valley) there's a small stream of water pouring out of a hole in the cliffside. At night, a Gold Skulltula will be right on top of that hole. Use the boomerang to get the token.

As Adult Link, at night, look on the cliffside behind the carpenter's tent for another one.

As Adult Link, at night, look on the stone archway that's just to the left of the Gerudo's Fortress entrance. Use the Hookshot to get it.

Go to the Gerudo Archery Range at night and run to the target that's all the way at the farthest point north. Aim at it with your hookshot and you'll see a Gold Skulltula waiting right on the bullseye.

At night, you'll find a Gold Skulltula at the top of the Thieves Hideout. It's on a wall near where you call the Scarecrow to reach a platform with a treasure chest, in a gap between that wall and the preceding wall.

On the top floor of Goron City, there's a room with a bunch of boulders in it. You'll have to take a lot of bombs with you and bomb open a trail through the breakable boulders. At the very back of the room is a crate. Roll into the crate to reveal a Gold Skulltula.

As Adult Link, there's a Gold Skulltula on the back of that altar in the top middle of Goron City. You'll have to carefully walk on a rope and use your Hookshot to get it.

Catch a bug with an empty bottle and take it to the little square of sand with a hole in the middle that can be found in the Kakariko Graveyard. Dump the bugs near the square and they'll dive down the hole, forcing out a Gold Skulltula in the process.

At night, a Gold Skulltula will appear on the wall at the end of the upper row of graves. You will need the Boomerang to collect its token.

There's a stone pedestal in the middle of the Haunted Wasteland, where you meet the Poe who guides you the rest of the way through the desert. You can go inside of it and find a Gold Skulltula on the wall.

Roll into the tree that's just at the entrance to the Hyrule Castle area and another spider of the curse will fall out.

Go to the tree that's at the corner of the fence near Hyrule Castle. Play the Song of Storms and a hole will open up in the ground. Drop down into the hole and bomb the walls in the cave below until one of them reveals a Gold Skulltula.

Near the entrance to Gerudo Valley, you'll find a ring of stones. Use a bomb in the center to blow open a hole. In the cave below, you'll have to use Din's Fire to burn up some spider webs that have blocked off the rooms. In the room behind the cow, there's a spider web high up on the wall with a Gold Skulltula on it. Use the boomerang to retrieve its token.

There is a lone tree just east of the Hyrule Castle entrance and just north of the Kakariko Village entrance. Plant a bomb near this tree to reveal a hole. Inside the hole is a cavern covered in spider webs and a certain spider of the gold variety hanging out on one.

In the big room of the Ice Cavern with the spinning blade trap, there's a Gold Skulltula on a wall between two vertical sheets of ice, and above several ice stalagmites. (Sorry about the screenshot. I accidentally killed it with Din's Fire before I had a chance to see where it was.)

In the same room that has a Heart Container piece in a block of red ice, you'll find another Gold Skulltula crawling around on an ice stalagtite. Use your hookshot.

In the room with the sliding ice block puzzle, there's another Gold Skulltula on a wall, plain as day.

Inside Jabu-Jabu's Belly, there is a room with a switch that you push to raise the water in the middle. Off to the side are some vines on the wall that lead to a small alcove with some pots. A Gold Skulltula can be found hanging out on those vines.

There is a room inside Jabu-Jabu that has a high ledge on the far side that you have to drop down onto from above. There are also several jellyfish enemies floating around in it. In this room are two Gold Skulltulas on the wall, pretty close to each other. You will need the boomerang to collect the tokens after you kill them.

You might need to be on the high ledge before you can get the second Gold Skulltula in this room. I was able to kill it with the Slingshot, but couldn't seem to reach the token with the boomerang from the lower part of the floor.

In the room before the boss fight, you have to climb up a long set of vines. There's a Gold Skulltula on them near the bottom.

Climb up to the highest level of the Deku Tree and enter the door up there. You'll be in a room with a switch that causes three platforms to temporarily raise up. Use them to get to an alcove on the side of the room that has a small treasure chest and a Gold Skulltula on the wall behind it.

Fall down to the lowest level of the Deku Tree (through the spider web in the middle of the floor). There is a Gold Skulltula on the wall of vines that you can use to climb back up.

On the lowest level of the Deku Tree there is a Gold Skulltula on a grate where the water drains into.

You will have to come back to this dungeon after you get bombs and the boomerang. One room before the boss is a wall that can be bombed open. Beyond it is a cave that has a Gold Skulltula on the wall, and you'll need the boomerang to snag the token once it's destroyed.

Roll into the tree in the front of Kakariko Village to knock loose a Gold Skulltula.

At night in Kakariko Village, look on the back of the House of Skulltula, just below a window, to find another one.

At night in Kakariko Village, look on the brick wall on the inside of the house that's still being built for a creepy crawler.

Way up on the ladder of the lookout tower at night in Kakariko Village, you will find another gold spider. Hit it with your slingshot and climb up to get the token.

On a wall behind a house near the gate to Death Mountain in Kakariko Village, near three breakable pots, you'll find another Gold Skulltula at night.

As adult Link, at night, hookshot to the top of Impa's house and look on the cliffside behind it.

Take another bottled bug to the sand square at the very back of the Kokiri Forest. Let the bugs go and they'll dig up another Gold Skulltula for you.

At night, look on the back of the Know-it-All Brothers' house (the house on the upper tier where you learn stuff about playing the game).

In Adult Link's world at night, look on the back of the Kokiri House that has the two "prongs" on top. Use the hookshot to get it.

Go to the central island in Lake Hylia and look across the water from where the tablet is that gives the clue about shooting into the sun. There's a small island with two pedestals on it. At night, a Gold Skulltula will be on one of those pedestals.

Take a bottled bug to the square patch of sand near the Lakeside Laboratory. Drop the bugs down the hole and they'll eject a resident Gold Skulltula.

Go the bridge near the Lakeside Laboratory, then turn around and look at the back of the building. Wait until nightfall and a Gold Skulltula will appear. You'll need to use the Boomerang to get its token.

When you have the Iron Boots and the Zora Tunic, go to the Lakeside Laboratory and dive into the pool that's in there. Once you sink all the way to the bottom, roll into the crate to break it open. A Gold Skulltula will pop out. You'll have to use your Hookshot to kill it because you can't use your sword underwater.

The dead tree on the central island of Lake Hylia has a Gold Skulltula on top of it at night in Adult Link's world. Use the hookshot/longshot to get up there.

There's a tree just outside the house in Lon Lon Ranch. Roll into it to dislodge a Gold Skulltula.

At night in Lon Lon Ranch, you'll find a Gold Skulltula crawling on the window outside Talon's house. Use the boomerang to get the token it leaves behind.

Along the western wall of Lon Lon Ranch, a Gold Skulltula will appear at night. You'll need the boomerang to get the token.

There's a wooden structure at the back of Lon Lon Ranch's inner corral. On the back side of that structure, a Gold Skulltula will appear at night.

Catch a bug with an empty bottle and take it to the little square of sand that can be found deep in the Lost Woods, in the same area with two Deku Scrubs and a hole that leads to an underground cave (called "The Stage"). Dump the bugs near the square and they'll dive down the hole, forcing out a Gold Skulltula in the process.

You can find another sandy square if you go left at the start of the Lost Woods and one room past the lone Skull Kid (where the bridge is). Dump your bugs and let the Skulltula come forth.

If you planted a Magic Bean in that sand square in the same room with the hole that leads to "The Stage", you can come back as Adult Link and ride the beansprout up to the ledge above. At night, there will be a Gold Skulltula up there.

When you cross the drawbridge into Hyrule Castle Market, you'll immediately see a door on Link's right. Enter the door and you'll be in a room full of pots and a single guard. Roll into the crates on the back wall of this room to reveal a Gold Skulltula.

As Adult Link, at night in the Sacred Forest Meadow, get on top of the hedge maze at the beginning of the area, and look for a Gold Skulltula high on a wall to the right (when facing into the Forest Temple entrance area).

There's a large open room in the Shadow Temple with floating platforms and a Stalfos Knight that attacks you on one of them. After you beat him, instead of going to the right, use the Lens of Truth to find a trail of invisible platforms going left. Follow them all the way to the end and you'll reach a room with a Gold Skulltula.

In the room where the spiked ceilings fall and you have to push a block underneath to get past them, there is a Gold Skulltula inside one of the "prison cells".

The room with the large spinning skull vase has a Gold Skulltula behind the skull on the wall.

In the room where you can board the ship, there's a high ledge where Navi will fly up and turn green. Use the Scarecrow's Song to call Pierre, and use the Longshot to reach him. Nearby on the wall up there you'll find another golden eight-legger.

The room with three large spinning skull vases also has a gold spider on the wall behind the skulls.

In young Link's portion of the Spirit Temple, look for a Gold Skulltula crawling around on a chain link fence in a room with a lot of bats.

Also in young Link's portion of the Spirit Temple, there is a room with a long vertical shaft. A Gold Skulltula can be found high on the wall in that shaft.

Again in young Link's side of the Temple, there is a room you will enter and immediately be able to hear the sound of a crawling spider. Turn around and you'll see it above the door.

In the room with the rolling boulders and the alcoves lining the walls, play the Song of Time to move the blue block over one space. Behind where it used to be you'll find a Gold Skulltula on the wall.

In the room with the giant snake woman statue, there's a ledge on the west wall where you can call Pierre with the Scarecrow's Song. Longshot over to him and look for a Gold Skulltula on the wall nearby.

In a room with a crystal switch and four breakable pots behind it, look for a Gold Skulltula on the back wall.

In the underground caverns of the Water Temple, there is a Gold Skulltula on a wall just above a whirlpool.

Inside the Water Temple's central column, you can find a Gold Skulltula on the wall at the very top. You'll need the Longshot to get up that high.

There's a place in the Water Temple where a boulder falls down a waterfall and rolls off into another room. Right on the wall where the waterfall is, above a tunnel that leads downward, you can find a Gold Skulltula.

In the large room where the hookable platforms continually cascade down a waterfall, there is a Gold Skulltula high up on a wall. You will need the Longshot to get it.

In Adult Link's world, Zora's Domain is completely frozen. Go to the top of the waterfall (accessible from King Zora's room) and look on the wall to the left. Use your hookshot to get the Gold Skulltula there.

Roll into the tree that's near the wall in Zora's Fountain to dislodge a Gold Skulltula.

At night time, walk onto that big log that's lying in the fountain's water, and turn around. There will be a gold spider on the wall behind you.

After you get the Silver Gauntlets, go to the big grey rock in Zora's Fountain and pick it up. There's a tunnel underneath of it. Follow it all the way to the end. At night, a Gold Skulltula will appear on the wall near the top.

Roll into the tree at the very entrance of Zora's River to dislodge a Gold Skulltula.

At night in Zora's River, go to the very end, near the entrance to Zora's Domain, and check the ladder that goes down to the water. There will be a Gold Skulltula stuck to it that you can destroy for another token.

As Adult Link, climb up the ladder to the upper portion of the area. There will be a Gold Skulltula on the wall behind the small plateau that has a hole in it at night.

As Adult Link, at night, you'll find a Gold Skulltula high up on the wall just at the bend in the river that leads into the Zora's Domain entrance (where the wooden bridge is).
