BOLTTOR2 | HERO, GUN MECA, MUSTAFA | Outside & During Battle | Stronger than BOLTTOR1, this lightning attack attempts to hit one on-screen enemy or an entire group of enemies in command battles. The Hero learns it at Level 11. Gun Meca and Mustafa start with it. |
BOLTTOR3 | HERO | Outside & During Battle | The strongest version of the BOLTTOR spell. It will hit an entire group of enemies in command battle, dealing massive damage to those susceptible to it. Can also be used on the overworld. Learned at Level 17. |
CARABA | HERO, HASSAN | Outside & During Battle | The strongest version of the CORBOCK/SHRINK spell. Hassan can use it during battle, but the Hero cannot. Hassan starts with it. The Hero learns it at Level 20. |
CORBOCK | HERO | Outside Battle | A spell that will attempt to shrink overworld enemies. Enemies that have been successfully shrunk cannot hurt you and can be killed by stepping on them. It will not work on all enemies, though. Learned at Level 9. |
DEFENEE | HERO, CORONYA, EPIN, GUBIBI | Outside & During Battle | When used outside of battle, it temporarily increases your defense. When used during battle, it causes the entire party to put on the Armors of Light, increasing their defense to physical attacks. The Hero learns it at Level 4. Coronya, Epin, and Gubibi start with it. The Hero cannot use it during battle but Coronya, Epin, and Gubibi can. |
FIREBOLT | HERO, FARUK, HASSAN | During Battle | This is one of the Combined Magic spells. It can only be used by the Dragon Formation, which consists of the Hero, Faruk, and Hassan. It summons a fiery tornado that will deal massive damage to all enemies. Most effective against the Zodor Squad. |
FLAMOL1 | HERO | Outside & During Battle | A whirling flame attack that hits all enemies on-screen outside of battle and all enemies during a menu battle. It's very useful because some spells only hit all of a single species of enemy in menu battle, but this one hits the entire enemy party. Learned at Level 7. |
FLAMOL2 | HERO | Outside Battle | Stronger version of FLAMOL1. A whirling flame attack that hits all enemies on-screen outside of battle. For some reason, FLAMOL2 cannot be used during menu battles (although FLAMOL1 can). Learned at Level 14. |
FLAMOL3 | HERO & HASSAN | Outside & During Battle | The strongest version of FLAMOL. A whirling flame attack that hits all enemies on-screen outside of battle or all enemies during a menu battle. Hassan can use it during menu battles but the Hero cannot. Hassan starts with it. The Hero learns it at Level 23. |
GILZADE | FARUK, PUKIN | During Battle | A fire spell that deals a lot of damage to one enemy. Faruk and Pukin start with it. |
GYGATORN | HERO, CORONYA, FARUK | During Battle | This is one of the Combined Magic spells. It can only be used by the Cygnus Formation, which consists of the Hero, Coronya, and Faruk. It summons a tornado that will attempt to blow away the enemies. Most effective against the Basido Squad. |
JUMP | HERO | Outside Battle | This isn't really a spell, it's just an action. You can use "JUMP" to get around damage zones, pits, and townspeople that block your path. |
LIBCOM | HERO | Outside Battle | This is one of the Great Magics, given to you by a Wise Man if you can find where he's hidden in the chapter. It can only be used during the Solar Eclipse. When used, LIBCOM will bring all dead party members back to life. |
MARITA | HERO | Outside & During Battle | Restores a lot more HP than PAMPOO. Unfortunately, you can't get it until the final chapter. Learned at Level 21. |
MATATO | RAINY | During Battle | Rainy can use this spell to restore 20 HP to all active party members in battle. |
MONECOM | HERO | Outside Battle | This is one of the Great Magics, given to you by a Wise Man if you can find where he's hidden in the chapter. It can only be used during the Solar Eclipse. MONECOM will grant you lots of free money and items so it's definitely worth getting! |
MONIBURN | HERO, KEBABU, GUN MECA | During Battle | This is one of the Combined Magic spells. It can only be used by the Libra Formation, which consists of the Hero, Kebabu, and Gun Meca. IMO, this is one of the most gruesome attack spells known to RPGs. Victims of it are literally turned into a rocket, launched, and exploded. It will attempt to hit the entire enemy party. Most effective against the Air Squad. |
MOSCOM | HERO | Outside Battle | This is one of the Great Magics, given to you by a Wise Man if you can find where he's hidden in the chapter. It can only be used during the Solar Eclipse. MOSCOM will make a phantom mosque appear out of thin air so that you can change class, bring your allies back to life, or get a password anywhere you decide to use it. |
MYMY | CORONYA, MUSTAFA | During Battle | This spell will attempt to hit an entire group of enemies at once. If it's successful, it will turn them into a hamburger and freeze their physical attacks (but not their magic). Coronya and Mustafa start with it. |
OPRIN | HERO | Outside Battle | When Coronya or someone else tells you to use "OPRIN", that means there is a secret door on that screen. Use the spell to open it up. Many strange and wonderful things will be found... |
PAMPOO | HERO | Outside & During Battle | Used to restore some of your lost hit points. Learned at Level 2. |
PERIUS | RAINY | During Battle | Rainy can use this spell to bring down a powerful rain that hits the entire enemy party. You'd think something like rain wouldn't be so damaging, but it's especially strong against fire monsters. Rainy starts with this power and only he has it. |
RAINCOM | HERO | Outside Battle | This is one of the Great Magics, given to you by a Wise Man if you can find where he's hidden in the chapter. It can only be used during the Solar Eclipse. RAINCOM will make it rain in the desert and cause it to turn into a normal green overworld for awhile. This will prevent you from losing HP as you walk around until it wears off. |
RAMIPAS | HERO | Outside Battle | Some townspeople tell you that you will not meet any enemies when you use this spell, and that's what the Hero claims when you use it. However, it doesn't prevent enemies from showing up on the overworld, it doesn't prevent command menu battles nor wizard battles, and the manual doesn't mention it. My guess is that someone decided that it made the game too easy, but instead of taking it out altogether, "dummied" it so that it wouldn't work. Learned at Level 15. |
RESEALO | GUBIBI | During Battle | If a character's form has been changed by the enemy's magic, Gubibi can use RESEALO to undo it and turn him/her back to normal. Gubibi starts with this power. |
SEAL | KEBABU, SUPICA | During Battle | This spell will attempt to hit an entire group of enemies at once. If it's successful, it will turn them into a cake and seal their magic (but not their physical attacks). Kebabu and Supica start with it. |
SHRINK | HERO | Outside Battle | The stronger version of CORBOCK. A spell that will attempt to shrink overworld enemies. Enemies that have been successfully shrunk cannot hurt you and can be killed by stepping on them. It will not work on all enemies, though. Learned at Level 13. |
SILLEIT | GUN MECA | During Battle | When Gun Meca uses this ability, he will transform into a mirror and reflect back all enemy magic attacks that attempt to hit him. Gun Meca starts with this power and he is the only one who has it. |
SPEAK | HERO | Outside Battle | This isn't really a spell, it's just an action. Select "SPEAK" to talk to the townspeople. If you forget to do this and accidentally hit them with your sword, they'll only say, "OH HECK!" to you until you leave and come back. |
SPRICOM | HERO | Outside Battle | This is one of the Great Magics, given to you by a Wise Man if you can find where he's hidden in the chapter. It can only be used during the Solar Eclipse. SPRICOM will make spring return to the winter world, causing it to become a normal green overworld for awhile. This will prevent you from losing HP as you walk around until it wears off. |
STARDON | HERO, PUKIN, MUSTAFA | During Battle | This is one of the Combined Magic spells. It can only be used by the Sirius Formation, which consists of the Hero, Pukin, and Mustafa. It causes countless falling stars to rain down, dealing massive damage to all enemies. Most effective against the Gilas Squad. |
THUNDERN | HERO, GUBIBI, RAINY | During Battle | This is one of the Combined Magic spells. It can only be used by the Kaitos Formation, which consists of the Hero, Gubibi, and Rainy. It summons a very powerful lightning bolt that will deal massive damage to all enemies. Most effective against the Magma Squad. |
TORNADOR | HERO, SUPICA, EPIN | During Battle | This is one of the Combined Magic spells. It can only be used by the Aries Formation, which consists of the Hero, Supica, and Epin. It summons a tornado that will deal massive damage to all enemies. Most effective against the Fire Squad. |
VELVER | PUKIN | During Battle | Sometimes enemies will shroud themselves in a fog that makes you unable to hit them. Pukin can use this spell to lift the fog. When enemies on the overworld are fogged, he will appear automatically and lift it. Only Pukin has this power. |
WHISTLE | EPIN | During Battle | Epin carries a strange whistle that he sometimes uses to reveal a monster's true form (like the Demon Curly). During the menu battles, you can use the whistle to recover a little MP. It increases either your MP or the MP of your ally in the first slot by 10, but never the ally in the last slot.
