LAST SUNSET

A shining star goes supernova
And in its dying moment spreads its light far and wide
The irony of the situation is that everyone
Turns and looks to the other side

Time has its ways of vindicating some
But you were fooled into waiting
For what you know won't come

And you're never gonna face it down
Oh, the way the world sees you now
You would change it, but you don't know how
So, you're throwing it all away

So long...
And when you're gone
Tell me, who'll be left to ride the saddle to the sun?

So long...
And when the end comes
There will be no one left to ride the saddle to the sun

When a dying star goes supernova
The light illuminates the signs you never read before
The irony of the situation is that you're still unsung
Yet they can't be ignored

Through it all you're aware they are a poison
That numbs your soul and propagates your fear
There's no way you can stay here

So, I'm never gonna see you again
'Cause you're never gonna let them win
You can't fight it, but you won't give in
So, you're throwing it all away

So long...
And now that you're gone
There is no one left to ride the saddle to the sun

So long...
Your fighting soul's gone
And there is no one left to ride the saddle to the sun

Time has its ways of vindicating some
But you were so tired of waiting
For what would never come

And you're never gonna face it down
Oh, the way the world sees you now
You would change it, but you don't know how
So, you're throwing it all away

So long...
And now that you're gone
There is no one left to ride the saddle to the sun

So long...
And now the end's come
And there is no one left to ride the saddle to the sun
