HyperZone is a first-generation Super NES rail shooter game by Hal Laboratory that serves little purpose aside from being a Mode 7 graphics and SNES sound chip demo. The graphics are indeed colorful and eye-catching, and the music is superb, but it's so short and easy that one has to wonder what made the company best known for its Lolo series of puzzle games want to make a shooter all. After almost 20 years, we may finally have an answer.
