Oddities 30: Switched at Birth? Part 10

I can hardly believe we've done 10 of these things already! Thanks, again, to all those who submitted.

Benimaru Nikaido from King of Fighters

Paul Phoenix from Tekken

Submitted by Pokejedservo.

FO's Comment: This one also reminds me of Chris Rock in the Chia Head sketch from Saturday Night Live.

Booster from Super Mario RPG

Cid from Final Fantasy 4

Submitted by Lord Draco3.

FO's Comment: As Magnus Crowe once said, maybe Booster was supposed to be the "Cid" of Super Mario RPG.

Charity Bazaar from Histeria

Roll from Mega Man

Submitted by Pokejedservo, "Hey why not? They're known as "The most underused character" in both their respective series."

FO's Comment: Nothing to add.

Chief from Where is Carmen Sandiego?

Egon Spengler from the Real Ghostbusters

Submitted by Sedgewick.

FO's Comment: Both of these cartoons were produced by DIC. I think they must've had the same character designer.

Chief from Where is Carmen Sandiego?

Zordon from Power Rangers

Submitted by Sedgewick.

FO's Comment: Things I've learned from kids' shows: A detached, floating bluish-grey head behind glass makes a great mentor for teenagers.

Chris Thorndyke from Sonic X

The Hero from Robotrek

Submitted by ErniePants.

FO's Comment: None.

Chris Thorndyke from Sonic X

Sora from Kingdom Hearts

Submitted by Nick Miller.

FO's Comment: At the rate this is going, we'll be able to play "Six Degrees of Chris Thorndyke" before long.

Cyan from Final Fantasy 6

Tim Curry

Submitted by Pokejedservo, "The resemblance is by all means there and hey they're about the same age as well."

FO's Comment: Eh, don't know if I see it, myself, but this is the third time Tim Curry has been featured on SAB. Getting kind of creepy, if you ask me...

Edgar from Final Fantasy 6

Treize from Gundam Wing

Submitted by Pokejedservo.

FO's Comment: Weirdness!

Foster from Ninja Gaiden 3

Willem Dafoe

Submitted by Crawl and 1000, "Foster from Ninja Gaiden 3 may not look like Foster from Ninja Gaiden 1, but he does look like Willem Dafoe!"

FO's Comment: But I don't picture him sounding like Willem Dafoe. I picture Shin Kazama in the opening of U.N. Squadron having Willem Dafoe's voice.

Heishiro Mitsurugi from Soul Calibur

Ha-Oh Maru from Samurai Shodown

Submitted by Pokejedservo.

FO's Comment: I replaced the original image of Haohmaru that I used to have here with one in which the resemblance was much closer.

Heishiro Mitsurugi from Soul Calibur

Oda Nobunaga

FO's Comment: I also think that Misurugi looks like the infamous Japanese warlord, Oda Nobunaga, at least the way he's depicted in Koei's artwork.

Karin Kanzuki from Street Fighter Alpha 3

Helena Douglas from Dead or Alive 2

Submitted by Pokejedservo, "Well despite the rather physical "youthful" differences the similarities are quite similar."

FO's Comment: Don't go getting redundant on me, now...

Jeke from Green Legend Ran

MacBeth from Gargoyles

FO's Comment: This is one I found a long time ago, but didn't remember it until recently. I once saw this anime on the Sci-Fi Channel called "Green Legend Ran", and I remember thinking the whole time that Jeke looked almost exactly like MacBeth from Gargoyles, except that he still has hair color.

Jill Valentine from Resident Evil

Lara Croft from Tomb Raider

Submitted by Pokejedservo, "Ok Capcom what do you got to say for yourself here?"

FO's Comment: That's kind of funny, actually...

Kasumi Todo from King of Fighters

Kaoru Kamiya from Ruroni Kenshin

Submitted by Pokejedservo

FO's Comment: Not much to say.

Poison from Final Fight

Prima/Lorelei from Pokemon

Submitted by Pokejedservo, "Despite the big difference of attire that's the only real big difference."

FO's Comment: Well, maybe not the ONLY big difference, but I guess they're close enough.

Yae from Goemon/Mystical NinjaLum from Urusei Yatsura

FO's Comment: Another one I noticed awhile ago, but didn't think of until now.

Paul Phoenix from Tekken

Scott McNeil

Submitted by Pokejedservo, "For those who don't already know, McNeil is a VERY known voice actor (even though he has never voiced Paul in any way)."

FO's Comment: To give you an idea, Scott McNeil was the original voice of Piccolo in the American dubbed version of Dragon Ball Z, as well as Dinobot, Rattrap, and Waspinator on Beast Wars, among others.

Dingo Egret from Zone of the Enders

Dante from Devil May Cry

Crawl and 1000 discovered this one.

FO's Comment: Seems like that white hair thing was a fad around that time.
