Update: 12/31/04
I had so much fun writing that article on the Autobots, that I added three more to it. If you looked at it earlier and liked it, you may want to take another look. ~FO

I worked on something that made me feel a little better. This was something I had been meaning to do for a long time, but just never got around to it. Since I already got most of the pictures posted in a "picture" topic on the forums, and I got some inspiration from a recent article on CodieKitty's site, I went ahead and wrote an article about some of my favorite Autobots. I hope it's a fun read. ~FO

*Sigh* I'm sick of giving myself migraines over the review issue. For now just enjoy the greatest line of RPG dialogue ever:

Thank you, Bebedora. You are truly a guiding light in these desperate times.

In happier news, I wrote up a strategy for beating the final boss of Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits, with the help of my friend, James FP.

Update: 12/27/04
I rewrote my Kabuki Quantum Fighter review since I just replayed that game a couple of days ago. I never was quite happy with my review of that game. Although I still firmly believe KQF is a subpar game, I always felt my reviews of it were much too hard on it. I also wanted to update the review into essay format, and that's been done. ~FO

Holy crap, I forgot to do Game of the Month for December! I know that I'm normally quite lazy about it these days, but this time I, for some reason, was just under the impression I had already done it. But I was going through my site pages for something the other day and saw that it wasn't there. Well, it's there now. No, no Christmas-themed games. ~FO

I also updated my Shadowgate 64 review since I completed that game again yesterday. I made VERY few changes to the review. I essentially just eliminated a few unnecessary paragraphs, updated it to essay format and converted the score. After beating it a second time, my opinion of that game didn't really change and I don't think I'm being too hard on it. ~FO

Update: 12/24/04
I added one more entry to the Arc the Lad 4 Switched at Birth? page that I had forgotten to post earlier. I also added one final article to that section, a Random Oddities page. Yeah, I know I never did character pages for Darc, Volk, Ganz, or Camellia, but I have a hard time writing about characters that aren't easy to poke fun at. I really like Darc a lot, but he's such a serious character, that I can't really make fun of him and I'll probably just get him covered in the full review. Ditto for Volk. Ganz is a character I neither like nor dislike, he's just sort of...there. And maybe someday I'll make a page for Camellia and post more of the Delma vs. Camellia arguments on it, but I'd have to play through more of the game again to get screencaps, and I don't feel motivated to do that right now. ~FO

Update: 12/22/04
Cameos Database was updated. ~FO

Update: 12/20/04
I have another Oddities Article up. You know, this site has never exactly been "pristine and pure", but I sure hope it's not getting too raunchy... ~FO

And I have yet another Arc the Lad 4 article up, this one for Kharg. ~FO

Update: 12/19/04
I have another Arc 4 article, this one is a specially-dedicated Switched at Birth? page for the Arc 4 characters. (Any future SAB's for Arc 4 characters will be added exclusively to that page.) ~FO

Oops. I added one more to the Arc 4 SAB article that I forgot to put on there earlier. ~FO

Yay! Another Arc the Lad 4 article, this one for Tatjana! Man, I'm on a roll with this game. I also updated the Links page again. ~FO

Update: 12/18/04
I put up another article, this one called Why I Hate Arc the Lad: Generation. I'm also currently working on site submissions. I'll have some stuff uploaded later in the day.

The Cameos Database has been updated and I also updated the Links page. ~FO

Holy crap! We have another Switched at Birth? article! And, as a special treat, a new Oddities page submitted by FlyingOmelette.com community member and frequent contributor, Codie Martin: The Misadventures of p0rn Sigma! (For those who noticed that my oddities pages skipped from 44 to 46, that's because 45 is another unfinished SAB article. That'll be uploaded when it's done.) Even though I have a section for it in "Game Shrines", I also added a link to the Arc the Lad 4 stuff to the Oddities page because, in all honesty, it's more like an Oddities feature than a true Game Shrine, but I'll leave links in both areas for now. ~FO

Update: 12/17/04
I added more stuff to my Arc the Lad 4 Page. Most of what I added is stuff archived from the "Post a Picture" topics on our forums, but even if you already saw those topics, you might want to take a look through them again, as I added some new material. (In particular, I extended the conversation beween Maru and Bebedora so that it makes more sense, and I added some character descriptions.) I also have to once again give a SPOILER WARNING to anyone who hasn't played that game and plans to. ~FO

Update: 12/12/04
Q: Why did you take down the Transformers animations?

A: Because they were taking up way too much space on my Boomspeed.com account. When I first made the Transformers animations a few years ago, it was basically just as an experiment in flipbook animations. However, the people on my forums went nuts over them, so I archived them to the site for awhile to give everyone a chance to download what they wanted. I never got much feedback on them from outside the community and the one time I did, it was to inform me that they weren't very good. So, lack of interest combined with negative feedback and taking up several megabytes of my Boomspeed space = bye-bye Transformers animations. However, if you downloaded them and want to feature any of them on a site of your own, feel free to do so. Just make sure I get credit for being the one who created the gifs.

In other news, I added a whole new section to Game Shrines for Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits. This is not a true game shrine, just a place to store my numerous ramblings about this game's characters and to archive the stuff from the picture topics on the forums. The Bebedora article is featured there, as well as a new one about Maru. (I also made some slight updates to the Bebedora article. I realized I said, "running and walking" when I meant "running and talking", and I said she was sealed in "the shrine", but didn't say what shrine it was.)

Finally, I can't believe I forgot this until now, but we have some new MP3's for December/January:

  • Albert Odyssey: Battle Theme (Stereo)
  • Albert Odyssey: Boss Battle Theme (Stereo)

These are both pretty good and even have some electric guitar, though it's midi format, not streamed like my previous Albert Odyssey mp3's were. I let them loop twice, but there's no fade-out, so they end abruptly, but still, considering how hard it is to get mp3's of this game's excellent music, that's better than nothing at all.

  • Arc the Lad 4: Darc's Theme (Way of the Supreme Ruler) (Stereo)
  • Arc the Lad 4: Kharg's Theme (Soaring Wish) (Stereo)

Last month, I gave you their battle themes. Here are their overworld themes. Both very, very good. I especially like the ending of Kharg's theme. These two are actually in .wma format because .wma's sounded a LOT better than the mp3's I made. But whatever you use to play mp3's should be able to play wma's, too.

  • The Neverending Story: Ivory Tower Theme (Stereo)

As you probably already know, this one isn't game music, it's from the soundtrack of The Neverending Story movie. I put this one up because someone requested it on my forums. However, I highly recommend downloading it if you like game music because it has a "game music" quality to it. A nice electric guitar part in here, too. (Also a .wma file.) ~FO

    Update: 12/10/04
I put together a little article called Why Bebedora is the Greatest RPG Character Ever. ~FO

    Update: 12/8/04
I updated the Cameos Database. I'm currently in the August Submissions. ~FO

    Update: 12/5/04
The Transformers Animations have been taken down. The Site Directory has been updated to current specs. All of the mp3's except the following have been removed:

  • Arc the Lad 4 - Bebedora's Theme
  • Alundra 2 - Carry On Everyday
  • Panzer Dragoon Saga - Sona Mi Areru Ec Sancitu

I added a review of Insector-X to the Genesis section. I should really put some thought into playing a Genesis game that might actually be good so that page won't look so much like 2-Star City. ~FO

    Update: 12/3/04
For those who don't read the forums, I just thought I'd put in a quick note on what I'm currently playing. Since I had a really good experience with my first Playstation2 game (Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits), I thought I'd give an X-Box game a whirl. I chose Blinx the Timesweeper. I probably should've chosen something else. It's a 3D platformer, a la Super Mario 64, but it just isn't that good. I'm currently at World 6 out of 8 total (I think). I'll also be working on that Insector-X review shortly. ~FO

    Update: 12/1/04
Cameos Database was updated. I'm STILL in the July submissions! On a side note, I found a way to reduce the filesize of jpegs with Paint Shop Pro with little to no loss in quality. I'm going to take some time out to reduce the sizes of all the jpegs hosted on this site so that I can get back some disk space. ~FO

    Update: 11/27/04
Just as an FYI, if there's anything you want from the Transformers Animations page, get it now because I'm taking them down next month. They're eating up too much space on my Boomspeed account and I have no plans to update that section. Also, be aware that most of the mp3's I have listed farther down on this page will be removed soon, too. I'll be keeping "Carry On Everyday" from Alundra 2 and "Bebedora's Theme" from Arc the Lad 4 available for some time, but I can't guarantee any of the others will stay around much longer. ~FO

    Update: 11/25/04
I added Game of the Month for November. I REALLY need to start doing these sooner in the month. I'm just so far behind on everything that it's not that easy. ~FO

I've revamped my Top 100 Favorite Games List. Nothing in the Top 20 changed, but the rest of the list has been reworked so that the order of the games now makes a lot more sense to me. Also, I ditched Solaris and replaced it with Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits. I still like Solaris a lot, but when I recently replayed it, I realized it shoots itself in the foot far too many times, like with forcing you to constantly refuel and reversing your controls when a planet explodes. ~FO

    Update: 11/23/04
Cameos Database was updated. I'm currently in the July submissions. ~FO

    Update: 11/20/04
I added a review of Astro Warrior to the Sega Master System section. ~FO

    Update: 11/13/04
I have another Switched at Birth? article up. ~FO

    Update: 11/13/04
The Cameos Database was updated. I'm still working on the June submissions. ~FO

I added some Turrican stuff to the Aliens Switched at Birth? article. ~FO

    Update: 11/12/04
Added three more terms to the Glossary, which include "Deus ex Han Solo", "Millennium Falcons", and "Parallomax Scrolling". ~FO

I figured out what was causing the distortion problems in the mp3's I recorded and I fixed the problem. I remade and re-uploaded the Goemon and Kartia themes. The current versions should have absolutely *no* distortion, so if you downloaded them earlier, you may want to try again. The rest of the mp3's sound okay to me. I'm only going to redo them if anyone reports distortion on any of them. ~FO

    Update: 11/10/04
I updated the Glossary with two new terms: "The RPG Battle Music Curse" and "Underused RPG Music Syndrome".

Speaking of RPGs, you know you've been playing them too long when you can't find anything particularly abnormal about a scene like this:

    Update: 11/10/04
I finally updated the Caption Contest, but I've temporarily suspended that section. I'll start a new contest when I'm more caught up on site submissions and reviews. ~FO

I also added another Switched at Birth? article. ~FO

    Update: 11/9/04
Oops! Both of my Albert Odyssey Overworld Mp3's linked to the same one. I fixed that. You should now be able to download both of them. ~FO

    Update: 11/8/04
I was informed that my Alundra 2 Japanese Ending song (Carry On Everyday) sounded distorted on some computers, so I replaced it with a better version. If you already downloaded this mp3, you might want to try downloading it again, as this one should not have as much distortion. ~FO

    Update: 11/6/04
And now for something completely different: Here is a collection of some really, really good, but really hard-to-get videogame music mp3s. If you're into game music, I highly recommend giving each of these a download. As an FYI, the ones that I recorded via the Line-In port on my PC are not in stereo, but they still sound pretty good. Because these files are taking up a huge amount of my Boomspeed account's space, they will not be up forever, so please get them while they're still available:

Albert Odyssey - Title Theme (Stereo)
Albert Odyssey - Cirrus's Theme (Stereo)
Albert Odyssey - The Cornelius (Airship) (Stereo)
Albert Odyssey - Overworld Theme (1) (Stereo)
Albert Odyssey - Overworld Theme (2) (Stereo)
Alundra 2 - Japanese Ending Song (Carry On Everyday) (Stereo)
Alundra 2 - Kindra Forest/Tortuga Beach Theme (Stereo)
Arc the Lad 4 - Darc's Battle Theme (Natural Selection) (Stereo)
Arc the Lad 4 - Kharg's Battle Theme (Offense & Defense) (Stereo)
Arc the Lad 4 - Bebedora's Theme (Stereo)
Arc the Lad 4 - The Flying Castle (Stereo)
Arc the Lad 4 - Maru's Theme (Sunlight) (Stereo)
Arc the Lad 4 - Church Ruins Theme (Stereo)
Dark Savior - Theme of Garian (Lonesome Soldier) (Stereo)
Goemon - Theme from Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon (N64) (Stereo)
Kagero - Keith's Battle Theme (Stereo)
Kagero - Miscellaneous Battle Theme (Stereo)
Kartia - Opening FMV Theme (Stereo)
King's Field - Ending Theme (Stereo)
Panzer Dragoon Saga - Sona Mi Areru Ec Sancitu (Stereo)
    Rhapsody - The Wanderer (Stereo)

    Update: 11/3/04
I've begun the long, arduous task of updating the Cameos Database. I have submissions backed up from April. APRIL!!! It's going to take awhile before I get completely caught up, so please have patience. ~FO

    Update: 10/30/04
I finally put up Game of the Month for October, and in a few days, I hope to put up one for November because this trend of waiting until the end of the month has to stop. Anyway, it should come as no surprise to hear that FlyingOmelette.com is suffering...badly. I just don't have the time to work on this site like I used to. Part of it is my inability to work on the site when someone else is in the room with me, and I hardly have any time alone these days. Also, the computer has been needed more and more by someone else lately, so that reduces my time even more.

I believe there will come a day when I will not have to work a full-time job. I believe there will come a time when I can work a part-time job and be financially safe. When that time comes, I'll have a lot more hours in my day and I will hopefully resume regular work on this site. Until that day comes, I will do my best to keep this place going, but I can't make any guarantees. ~FO

    Update: 10/24/04
Just a note on what I've been doing in the world of videogames lately for those who don't read the forums. Several updates below I said I was stuck on the final boss of Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits. Well, I actually beat him a long time ago, but it took about 20 tries before I finally found a strategy that worked. I'm now working on a replay. Bebedora = Greatest RPG Character Ever! And I'm not joking about that.

In other news, I beat the first and second loop of Astro Warrior for the Sega Master System. This is the first Master System game I've finished that didn't totally suck. It was actually rather good for a space shooter with only three levels, but it's certainly nowhere near as good as Zanac, Life Force, Abadox, Dragon Spirit, Super Earth Defense Force, or Gradius 3. I'll be reviewing it soon. But it has the infamous line "Surely revive Zanoni", so that has to count for something!

And in case you missed it on the forums, here's something I made for fun:

What Arc the Lad 4 Character Are You?

This is one of those silly personality tests. The jokes may not make sense if you haven't played Arc the Lad 4 or don't read the forums, but oh well.

Oh yeah, did I mention Bebedora is the greatest RPG character ever?

    Update: 10/24/04
When I added Final Fight On-Line to the Links page, I somehow accidentally deleted the link to Fenrir's Sprite Domain and had DJ Warmech's site on there twice instead. I only just noticed it this morning and I corrected the error. ~FO

    Update: 10/23/04
Could it be? Yes it is! I have another Switched at Birth? article up! I guess I'd better start writing "Game of the Month" before October is over, huh?

Update: CodieKitty informed me that I had the wrong pictures for two of her submissions, so I replaced them with two of Sotenga's submissions instead. I'll add hers to a future update when she's provided me with the correct images. ~FO

    Update: 10/17/04
Added a link to Final Fight Online in the Links section. It's an excellent Final Fight fansite. There's some really fascinating stuff in the "Features" section. ~FO

    Update: 10/7/04
I'm going to start converting all my old review scores to the 5-point scale. I will be removing all subscores from those reviews and just giving an overall score on a scale of 1-to-5. Honestly, most of my older reviews are quite terrible and in serious need of a rewrite, but I just don't have the time or motivation to redo all of them. ~FO

    Update: 10/2/04
Okay, I FINALLY got my entire site recoded and my Boomspeed.com files re-upload. NOW if you find any broken links, please email me to let me know, because everything SHOULD be working. This is why I didn't want anyone to email me about broken links before because it would've been too confusing.

On the videogame front, I'm at the final boss of Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits, but I can't beat him yet. I really like this game. I haven't played a game with characters and story that I've liked this much since Kartia. ~FO

    Update: 09/30/04
On the very last day of September, I finally throw together a Game of the Month article. I probably should have just let it go, considering all the crap this site's been through in the past month, but I hate to break tradition. ~FO

    Update: 09/27/04
I've begun uploading the recoded webpages to the domain. During this time, most of the external links to Boomspeed files *WILL NOT*, I repeat, WILL NOT work! I know it seems like I say, "Please don't email me" an awful lot up here, but this time it's really important when I say please do not email me about broken links to midi files or certain image files during this time. Once I get every last page recoded and uploaded, THEN I will FTP my Boomspeed files and everything will be working just fine again. ~FO

    Update: 09/26/04
Now that I've had a significant break from this place, I'm actually starting to miss working on it, so I'll probably start doing that again in the coming week, even though I still haven't finished making that music CD for work (heh heh...) I discovered a way to use the Line-in port on my Sound Card to record certain game music that I couldn't find in midi, MP3, PSF, or SPC format. I used Sound Recorder to record a bunch of music from Alundra 2 and Dark Savior. I'm going to get some Albert Odyssey music next. (Yes, I know some of the songs on Albert Odyssey can be played right from the disk, but not all of them.)

Here's a little update on what games I've been playing lately and will most likely be reviewed in the near future:

Insector-X (Genesis): This is the "best" game I've completed for the Genesis so far, but unfortunately it's not that good. It's a so-so sidescrolling shooter where all the enemies are bugs. The game has some challenging parts (particuarly the last stage on the "hard" difficulty setting), but most of it's just dull.

Cannon Spike (Dreamcast): This game seems like a waste of the Capcom licensed characters. Dull, boring, repetitive game design and extremely non-intuitive controls make for a really lackluster Smash TV-wannabe. Don't let the reviews of this game that claim it's "oldschool" fool you. This game really isn't much like an oldschool shooter at all. It has much more in common with the new-age "bullet-hell" shooters like Giga Wing and Gunbird 2.

Kartia (Playstation): This is the third time I've finished Kartia and I made it through both quests in record times. The more I play it, the more I discover secrets and strategies for playing better and completing it faster. If you really think the most important part of an RPG is its story, and you own a PS1 or PS2, then you should have no excuse for not playing this game. The story and characters are simply amazing. The gameplay isn't too shabby, either, but be aware that it's all battles. No exploring towns or dungeons in-between.

Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits (PS2): I'm currently still working on this one. This game shares a lot in common with Kartia, and though I think Kartia is the superior game in both gameplay and story, but this game is actually rather good, too. The battles have seemed rather easy so far, but I really dig the story, characters, and music. This is the first game I've played in awhile that I hadn't played before that I've really enjoyed a whole lot. ~FO

    Update: 09/24/04
Um...I have to make a note about the Cameos Database submissions - Lately, I'm getting tons of submissions for things that ARE ALREADY IN the database. It's not unsual to get one or two here and there, but I'm receiving entire emails with dozens upon dozens of entries that are already there. I don't understand this. Please read through the database and make sure that what you're submitting is not already posted there. What's even more baffling about it is that a lot of the duplicated entries have screenshots in the database. I mean, I can understand easily missing something here or there, but anything with screenshots or pictures should stand out like a sore thumb. Also, on a related note, please do not verify entries that are already marked "TRUE" unless you have something of great significance to add to it (for example, a screenshot, picture, midi, or significant amount of additional information that you feel should be included). I'm not giving people credit for writing in to tell me that something is true if it's already marked "TRUE". ~FO

    Update: 09/20/04
This has just been a terrible, terrible year for FlyingOmelette.com. The Boomspeed.com incident has aggravated me to the point where I just don't want to work on the site anymore. Although most of my files were restored, everything I uploaded in the past few months was not. Therefore, not only will I have to re-upload all the crap I had uploaded, which includes stuff for Cameos, the artwork section, and all those midis I converted, but I'm also going to have to reorganize my entire Boomspeed account to keep this from happening again. That, of course, means I have to recode a lot of my site (basically, every page that links to a Boomspeed file needs to be recoded.) I was working on that whole project, but then I had another bombshell dropped on me - My workplace is rebuilding our hard drives in preparation for an upgrade to Windows XP, and the new system won't allow us to save anything to our hard drives anymore. This means I had to get rid of all of my music I had on my work PC, and the only way for me to continue having music would be for me to put all my files on a CD. But CD's hold about 600 MB and I only had a little over 100 MB of music at work, so I've been trying to gather up enough to fill a CD. This project has taken a lot longer than I thought it would. I will probably need the remainder of this week to finish that project, and then next week I can restart work on recoding the site again. Once the entire site is recoded, I can FTP my files to Boomspeed and we should be all set to start updating again. The question is, will I feel up to it? I wouldn't say my mood has been bad lately, but it sours whenever I even think about this site. I guess we'll know in two weeks how I feel about it.

PS. Because of the fact that I am recoding the site, the DH's Nest staff has been given a red flag - They can't update the Cameos Database until I say it's okay. As an FYI to the staffers, you CAN continue to update your own site, but I'll need to recode your Midis page. Because you're linking to my Boomspeed files, your links will be no good once the changes are complete, so I'll have that all fixed for you. ~FO

    Update: 09/06/04
An update on the Boomspeed.com problem: The announcements on their site say that their system will automatically restore all of your files, but it's been three days since they made that announcement, and my files have still not been restored. They said the system was going in alphabetical order (which means mine wouldn't be restored until it got to letter "O"), but there are people with letter "A" accounts on the forums claiming that the system failed to restore their files, and last I heard it was up to letter "C". This doesn't look good, and more than likely I will have to re-upload all of my files. I've restored the necessary files to make the forums look good, but I do not have the time or energy to re-upload all the custom posticons and emoticons I used to have. Therefore, I've reverted back to using the default ezboard sets. I apologize for this, and I'm sorry ezboard's icons suck so much, but this situation has totally exasperated me and it's a lot of tedious work to re-upload and re-link them all.

This also means I'm going to have to put FlyingOmelette.com on temporary hiatus while I re-upload my entire midi collection as well as all the other large files I had stored at Boomspeed that were necessary for this site (like the Artwork files and certain images for the Cameos Database.) I implore you not to email me and complain about this hiatus because I'm in a really, really horrible rotten mood over this whole situation. A similar situation happened to me once before when I was building this site on Crosswinds.net. A server outage, which they blamed on the 9/11 disaster, caused me to lose everything I had uploaded. Because of the situation, and the fact that they swore they were taking measures to prevent it from ever happening again, I forgave it, and started re-uploading everything. Then several months later, it happened again, this time no 9/11, no excuses. So, because of that experience, I'm reluctant to continue using Boomspeed, as I can foresee the same thing happening, but I don't have too many other options available at the moment.

Also, I will NOT be restoring the Transformers Animations. I mentioned awhile ago that I might do away with that section, and that if you wanted anything from there, to get it now, so you can't say I didn't warn you. Those animation files were so large, that it would take forever to re-upload them all, and it's not worth it for a section I was planning to get rid of eventually, anyway.

If I was hosting your avatar/signature images for ezboard on my Boomspeed.com account, you might have to resend them to me. I have some of them saved on my hard drive, but all things considered, it would probably be easier if you just emailed them to me again. There are some people whom I have not seen on the forums for several months, and I will not re-upload your images if I don't hear from you.

I apologize for this and I apologize for my sour mood, but considering the situation, and how much time I'm going to have to spend re-uploading everything, I think I'm being nicer than I could be. ~FO

    Update: 09/05/04
A note on Boomspeed.com: They're working to fix the problem and it should be back on-line later tonight. ~FO

    Update: 09/04/04
I finally have up a review of Super Mario 64! I also updated the Cameos Database.

And another review, for Hang On has been added to the Sega Master System section. It's one of my shortest reviews, but that game didn't give me much to talk about. ~FO

    Update: 09/03/04
I'm having a small problem here. I was trying to update the Midis page, but Boomspeed has gone done. Almost all of my midis are hosted on Boomspeed, so I've been unable to complete that update. I'll try to work on other things until Boomspeed comes back on-line again. This also means that the images for the forums are currently down, too. But even though it looks bad, they're still fully-functional. I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused, but there's nothing I can do about it. ~FO

    Update: 09/01/04
First of all, I apologize for stopping the updates. The ones I'm currently working are taking more time to complete than I have lately. Anyway, we need to talk about the emails again. There are two types of emails I've been receiving off and on lately that I want to address as emails that I will not be responding to. The first type is this:

Q: Hi! I really enjoy your site, but your design looks like crap. If you want to become partners, I'll completely redesign your website for you and make it look all professional-like.

A: Don't bother. First of all, I would never give access to this site to someone I just met and don't even know. Secondly, although I have my own domain, this is still a fansite. I want it to look like a fansite, not like a newspaper. And I don't mean to bash anyone else's websites, but I personally will not visit sites where everything on the entire page is a graphic and it takes forever to load. (The #1 offender: www.nintendo.com!!) And I'm especially annoyed by sites with graphics and banners so large, they cause a horizontal scroll on 800 x 600 resolution. (I don't like using higher resolutions because it makes pictures look too small. I've seen pictures on my work PC monitor and couldn't tell what they were supposed to be until I looked at them on my home monitor.) I chose this design because it's simple and effective. The darkness gives off the mysterious, Aliens-like atmosphere, and since the images are mostly black-and-white, they're very small and don't take much time to load. Finally, I do not want any flash intros or flash banners or flash anything because many of my visitors are friends who claim that flash = browser crash. You don't have to like this design or think it looks great, that's your opinion, but don't ask me to change it because it's here to stay. On a side note, having nice web design is fine and all, but content and readability is more important. Remember the Golden Rule of K.I.S.S.

And the second type of email is:

Q: OMG!! YOU MUST READ THIS AND PASS THIS AROUND TO AS MANY PEOPL AS POSSIBLE!! THIS IS ABSOLUTELY TRUE AND WHEN YOU'RE DONE READING IT, BE SURE TO FORWARD IT TO ALL OF YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY AND AS MANY PEOPLE AS YOU CAN!!

A: Please do not send me these types of emails. They are called URBAN LEGENDS or CHAIN LETTERS, and I do not want them. Please refer to Snopes.com or About.com: Urban Legends & Folklore. If you send me one of these, it's going in the trash, and it will NOT be forwarded on to anyone. Case closed. ~FO

    Update: 8/29/04
I completely updated the "E" section of the Cameos Database. Wow. I've been updating on a daily basis for quite awhile now. ~FO

    Update: 8/28/04
I bet you thought I'd never get to it, but I finally put up Game of the Month for August. I'll try to be less lazy about that next month. ~FO

I completely updated the "D" section of the Cameos Database. I'm gonna have my work cut out for me when I hit letter "S"...

    Update: 8/27/04
I updated the Things We've Learned from RPGs article with all-new submissions from Flying Omelette, Deathamster, and Ultimate Chicken. Cameos was updated again today by SethraShnoo, too. ~FO

    Update: 8/26/04
I completely updated the "C" section of the Cameos Database today, and I added those Abadox midis to the Abadox review. ~FO

    Update: 8/25/04
I added a submission to the Kid Icarus Fanart section from Nintanda. I'm not feeling well right now, so I may not be updating much. ~FO

    Update: 8/23/04
We've had five new recipients of the Flying Omelette Golden Ridley Award of Excellence. The new winners are Nintendo Player, Scrollboss, Smackdown GT, The Super Nintendo Super Shire, and VideoGames101. If you are the webmaster of one of those sites, then you should have received an email from me containing your award. If you are the webmaster of one of those 5 sites, and for some reason you did not receive the email, then feel free to take the Golden Ridley from the Awards Page and slap it on your site. Congratulations to all the winners! Keep up the fine work. ~FO

I've completely updated the letter "B" section of the Cameos Database. Also, James added a lot of new entries to the database today. Looks like things are finally getting back-on-track. ~FO

    Update: 8/22/04
I added one final midi to the Jurassic Park review for the T-Rex Warning theme.

The entire Cameos Database is finally on-line! At this moment, I'm going to give FTP access to my auxiliary staff and we'll hopefully start getting caught up on all the updates we've had backlogged. ~FO

The Page for Letter "A" of the Cameos Database is completely updated with everything submitted for that letter to this point. 1 down, 25 to go. ~FO

    Update: 8/21/04
The Cameos Database is kinda, sorta updated. Here's the lowdown:

I broke up the sections into one letter per page. However, ONLY Pages A-S are currently on-line. I'll be working on T-Z through the coming week. Also, I stopped adding new entries sometime around Letter "L", because I came to the conclusion that I was simply never going to get this project done if I continued to add new entries to the pages. There is some new stuff, and that's been listed on the Cameos Index page, but don't expect everything that you've submitted lately to be up there yet.

Once the new version of the Cameos Database is completely on-line, I'll be able to enlist the help of my auxiliary staff to begin updating and adding new information. The old version of the Cameos Database is still on-line, and can be found by going to the Site Directory in the table to your left, but once the new version is completely on-line, the old one will be deleted.

And now for something completely different: I ripped some midis of Over Horizon and Abadox music with a program called nsf2midi. The reason I did this is because these games aren't very popular and I doubt anyone is ever going to sequence midis for them. They are also two very good NES soundtracks, so I thought I'd make these songs available to those who can't play .nsf files:

    Over Horizon Title Theme
    Over Horizon Level 1 Theme
    Over Horizon Level 2 Theme
    Over Horizon Level 3 Theme
    Over Horizon Level 4 Theme
    Over Horizon Level 5 Theme
    Over Horizon Level 6 Theme
    Over Horizon Final Boss Theme
    Over Horizon Ending Theme

If you don't listen to anything else in the Over Horizon set, listen to the Level 2 theme. It's one of my favorite NES songs.

    Abadox Level 1, 4, & 6 Theme
    Abadox Level 2 Theme
    Abadox Level 3 Theme
    Abadox Level 5 Theme
    Abadox Ending Theme

The Level 3 theme is my favorite of the Abadox Midis. Also, here is a midi of the "Princess" theme from the Magic of Scheherazade:

    Magic of Scheherazade Princess Theme

Although I have some excellent MoS midis on my Great Game Midis page, this is one that I was missing, and it's one of my favorites. ~FO

    Update: 8/18/04
Yesterday's update apparently caused some confusion. The rules posted below apply ONLY to people who have asked me to host their ezboard avatars/icons/etc. on my Boomspeed.com account. If you have your own image hosting, then you can have more than three pictures. I don't currently have a limit on the number of pictures allowed in signatures. Just try to be reasonable about it. Also, if your images weren't deleted, then everything is okay with them. Nobody currently has any images that are too large. If I am still hosting more than three images for you it's because you were "grandfathered" into the rules. This means I made an exception for you because you've been with the community for several years and you're still posting on a regular basis. But if anyone asks in the FUTURE for image hosting, the limit is three at a time.

And speaking of ezboard images, I updated by Ezboard Avatars Tribute page. ~FO

    Update: 8/17/04
I added a couple of midis to the Kid Dracula review, one for the intro, and one for the flying ships level. ~FO

    Update: 8/16/04
I realized I forgot to add a link to the Atari 7800 reviews section in the table to the left, so I did that. I also added one piece of Alundra 2 artwork to the Artwork Page.

I have also begun a clean-up of my Boomspeed.com account. I have eliminated the following files:

  • Ezboard avatars that people are not currently using.
  • Ezboard avatars of people who have not visited the forums in over a year.
  • Files used in message board posts that were at least a year old.
  • Various miscellaneous files that were no longer in use.

I will continue to do ezboard image hosting for users of my forums, however, only under the following new rules:

Rule #1: You can have a total of no more than three images at a time. That's one for your avatar, one for your signature, and one for your icon. (Or any combination that you like. If you want to have no icon and two signature images, for example, that's okay. Just so that you know the maximum is three images and no more.) If you want images for multiple names or if you want more than three images, you'll have to find your own image hosting service.

Rule #2: I am no longer hosting images for other ezboards. This one is more of an "FYI" thing than anything else, since the ezboard "fad" has pretty much died out and no one has asked me to host images for a long time. (And no, you can't have images hosted for other kinds of message boards, either!)

Rule #3: If you ask me to host avatar images, please do not keep asking me to change them for you every few weeks/months or so. If you don't plan to keep those images for a long time, then find your own image hosting service.

Rule #4: Images must be fairly small in size. I haven't exactly set a size limit, it's at my discretion. But as a general rule of thumb, try not to let any image exceed 100 KB in size. Also, I will *only* host images in .gif, .jpg, or .png format. No midis, mp3s, videos, or anything else of the sort.

Rule #5: If I host your images, then you MUST post at my board at least once every 6 months or so. Anyone who has not posted in 6 months, may have their images deleted. Anyone who hasn't posted in a year WILL have their images deleted.

That's about all I can think of. As another heads-up, if there is anything on the Transformers Animations page that you want, I suggest downloading it now, because there may come a time when I'll remove those files from my Boomspeed account. Since they are so large, they take up a lot of space, and I may eventually need that space for other ventures. It won't happen right away, but just keep that in mind if you want anything there. ~FO

    Update: 8/9/04
I did a complete rewrite of my EarthBound Review. I think this one is MUCH better than the old one. However someone, who shall remain nameless, was very insistent on me not getting rid of the old review, so I threw it into a new section in The Kitchen Sink called the "Garbage Bin". Don't expect me to do that with all of my old reviews if I rewrite them, though. ~FO

    Update: 8/5/04
I uploaded a review of Kid Niki: Radical Ninja. I also updated the Links page. I removed a site that no longer exists and I added a link to Smackdown GT. ~FO

    Update: 8/3/04
First of all, I'm doing away with "Featured Site of the Month". I have too much else to deal with on this site right now and because of the recent hiatus and changes being worked on, I'm way behind on a lot of things. You can always check my Links page for plenty of other decent video game and entertainment sites. However, I did find time to finish and upload my Atari 7800 Asteroids review. It's a short review, but it's not a game that requires a lengthy review. ~FO

    Update: 7/31/04
For reasons I'm not quite sure of, I reviewed Towering Inferno for the Atari 2600. Well, actually, I have a few reasons for this. 1. I thought it was a neat game that deserved some attention. 2. I'm trying to get back into the practice of frequent game reviewing, and I figure that doing a few quick-shot Atari game reviews would be a good way to start. 3. Yes, I admit, I'm also trying to pad the number of game reviews on this site. Lately, I've been visiting James Berardinelli's Reelviews and Qwipster's Movie Reviews websites, and man, oh, man, I'd LOVE to have as many game reviews on this site as they have on their movie review sites. But that's a pretty lofty goal at this point. ~FO

    Update: 7/30/04
I finally put up Game of the Month for July. This in no way implies this site is off hiatus. I've been on vacation the past week and haven't spent as much time on the computer as I usually do. I had a really wonderful time. Crawl and I visited a zoo, a science museum, and the Cedar Point amusement park in Ohio. I'll find out what's going on with my job this coming Monday. Hopefully, I can get things back on track before too much longer. ~FO

    Update: 7/26/04
The Alundra 2 review is up. I also updated the Links page. ~FO

    Update: 7/26/04
I'm preparing to complete and upload my review of Alundra 2. One thing I don't address in the review are the many mediocre to negative reviews this game received around the internet and in various publications. I don't like addressing stuff like that directly in reviews. I could give my personal opinions as to why I feel this game got such a negative reaction (the game is too challenging for today's gamers, people with no sense of humor, no one wanted to admit this game upstages Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, etc.), but I'd rather reply directly to things that were blatantly false, and since I don't want to do that in the actual review, I'll do it here:

Myth: Blocks fly randomly all over the screen and you have to shoot all over the place until something happens.

Fact: This made me laugh out loud. There are no blocks in this game that fly randomly around. Some game reviewers need to look up the defintion of the word "random". Every block that moves in this game follows a distinct pattern. Studying the pattern and learning to take advantage of it is the key to solving the puzzle.

Myth: The gameplay consists entirely of whacking things with a sword.

Fact: If you don't believe that this statement is false, then try beating the game just by whacking things with your sword and doing nothing else. You won't even get past the airship in the prologue. Alundra 2 has as much platform jumping and puzzle-solving as it does fighting, and just whacking the enemies (especially the bosses) with your sword won't be enough to defeat them. Learning when and how to attack and to dodge their own attacks is the only way to be successful.

Myth: The only difference between the puzzles in the dungeons is the timing needed to pull them off.

Fact: There is one part where you climb up a ladder. Spiked balls fall down that knock you off if they hit you. The solution is to leap off the ladder before the ball hits you, hover in mid-air (an item lets you do this), wait for the ball to drop, then fall back onto the ladder. Repeat until you reach the top. There is another part where you are faced with several blocks that move as you do. You must get the blocks to stop moving in exactly the right spots so that you can use them as "stepping stones" to leap up to an item on a higher ledge. Do these puzzles sound like they are the exact same thing and the only difference is the timing needed to pull them off? Am I the only reviewer who actually played this game beyond the first dungeon or two?

As you can see, this is why I said in my Top 100 that many reviews misrepresented what this game is like. I realize that reviews are opinions, but opinions should be backed up with facts. Some reviewers also complained about the Normal mode being way too difficult. I have finished the game on Normal, so I can understand why it might be "too much" for some gamers, but I'm still not sure I understand this complaint: There is an Easy mode if you find the Normal mode too difficult. That's what it's there for. And aside from Easy being, well...easier, there are no other differences between the two modes. So it's not like you're missing out on a special ending or secret item or something if you can't beat Normal.

The only other complaint I'll address is that Alundra 2 is nothing like Alundra 1. Well, the story and characters are completely unrelated. I agree that the game should not have been called "Alundra 2". The Japanese subtitle of the game is "The Mystery of the Machinevolution", which I think would have been an awesome and more fitting title, but it seems like companies are afraid of giving games movie-like titles. But a misnomer of a title doesn't automatically make the game bad, and we mustn't forget that very few people ever complain that none of the Final Fantasy games (except X-2) have stories or characters related to the others. ~FO

    Update: 7/24/04
I finally uploaded that In the Hunt review I promised a long time ago. Visitors to the forums have probably already read it, but now there are lots of screenshots. Enjoy! ~FO

    Update: 7/17/04
I finally got all 60 Puzzle Pieces in Alundra 2 after playing through it a third time. I'd been a little frustrated because the Bradygames Guide Book is mostly crappy and doesn't explain much about the puzzle pieces, and I felt the guides available on-line were too vague about some things. Therefore, I wrote my own Alundra 2 Puzzle Piece FAQ and posted it to the Guides section. I feel mine is the best and most comprehensive Puzzle Piece guide available for this game. Yeah, I know that sounds like I'm tooting my own horn, but I really worked hard on that, dammit! ~FO

    Update: 7/17/04 - A glimmer of hope
Well, it appears things could be improving at my current job (for now). I will be allowed to take a vacation, but I won't know for sure what's going on until I return. The main problem is that they were threatening to remove one worker from my department which means that my workload would effectively double. I would have to work overtime every night and work weekends in order to get everything done. But my supervisor is supposedly fighting to prevent this from happening. If it happens, then I will have to put FlyingOmelette.com on indefinite hiatus to search for a new job. If it doesn't happen, then everything should go back to normal. Let's hope for the latter, as finding a job around here will not be easy... ~FO

    **** FlyingOmelette.com is Temporarily Closed ****

I figured I may as well come out and say it before I continue this charade any farther. My job lately has turned into a living Hell. I have to find a new job, and I won't be able to do anything with the site until I do. I'll need to leave the computer off-line for most of the day so that I can receive calls from prospective employers.

The Cameos Database will be completely turned over to the staff of Deathamster's Nest. I'll need to finish what work I've begun on it before I can do that. (I'm breaking it up into one letter per page. The other staffers can't do anything until I've uploaded the new version.) Since I can do that off-line (except for the actual upload), it shouldn't be a problem, so long as I have no more car troubles.

It is possible that I will continue to maintain the Links page, as I will still be checking my email from work. I may also add a new review now and then, because I can write my reviews off-line (and I have a huge game review backlog...I'll need something else to do to take up the time I'd normally spend surfing around the internet). But absolutely nothing else, such as Oddities, will be updated during this time.

The forums will remain open as always, but I may not post there as much, because (as I said) I need to leave the computer off-line. If I post, it will probably only be from work, early in the morning, or late at night.

Wish me luck in finding a new and better job, so that I can return and get the site back up to spec as quickly as possible.

With a many great thanks to all those who have supported and submitted to the site over the years! Oh, and I made a tiny update to the Links page. ~FO

Stand your ground and never look behind (remember)
We're going down, but I'll be by your side (forever)
    Closing every door
    On all that's come before
    It won't be too long
    Now that forever is gone...

    Update: 7/3/04
The links page has been updated. If you asked me to exchange links lately, as long as your site has mine linked, you should be linked, too. If you're not, please be certain you have my site linked and the URL is correct, and then email me again. I also added a bunch of sites that had me linked somewhere. Most of them I discovered I was getting hits from via my site tracker, so I returned the favor. ~FO

    Update: 7/3/04
I'm declaring another temporary hiatus. I had some trouble with the anti-lock brake system on my car, and I had to take it into the shop this morning. They ran some test on it, and cleared the computer, and it seems to have fixed it. But that took up the time I would've used to update the site. I'm not sure when the site will be updated again now, but I'll continue to work on it whenever I get a chance. ~FO

    Update: 6/26/04
Another note on the Cameos Database progress. I'm still working on it, but I've only made it to Letter "G" so far, so I probably won't get the update in until later in the week. I just want to note that any submissions I receive today and hereafter will not be included in this next update. If I keep trying to add everything as I get submissions in, I'll never get done. So everything I received up until yesterday will be included in the next update. Anything from this day forward will be in a future update after that.

Also, I just recently finished Panzer Dragoon Saga. Here is an (mp3 of the ending theme). I highly recommend downloading this, especially to fans of anime and/or RPG music. Since this game is so rare and expensive to obtain, this will probably be most people's only chance to hear this wonderful song. ~FO

    Update: 6/23/04
Just a note on the Cameos Database - My auxiliary staffers and I are going to give the section an overhaul (again). This time, there will be one letter per page, because the database is just getting too big. We've begun work, but it could be awhile before it's all finished. Sorry for the delays. ~FO

    Update: 6/20/04
I've added Game of the Month for June. Sorry I was so late with it. I also updated the links page. ~FO

    Update: 6/18/04
I've updated the Cameos Database. For now, I've only added my own submissions. I have tons of reader submissions that I'll get started on tomorrow. The problem is that if I don't do my own submissions separately, I'll forget them. (The new entries for Star Fox and Mystaria I've been meaning to add for months, but I just kept forgetting.) ~FO

    Update: 6/12/04
And we are back on-line! Some changes have been made.

The Kid Icarus Shrine is now its own Sub-Domain located at http://kidicarus.flyingomelette.com/. I made some adjustments to the "Miscellaneous/Other" section of that site. Great Mother of all Things Round and Fruity, what was I smoking when I wrote the Captain N description?? I'd really like to believe I was in a cantankerous mood when I wrote that, but I seem to recall being in a rather positive frame of mind while I made the Kid Icarus Shrine, so that can't be it. Maybe I was just still angry at how bad Season 3 was, but anyway, to get to the point, I was WAYYYY too hard on that show. I actually liked Season 2 a lot, so I softened up my description a bit. (I'm still a bit picky, but that's just how I am. And I still stand by my opinion of the Captain N comics. Yes, they WERE that bad!)

All pages that were not updated into the new site format have been done so. The Gradius Review, the Guestbook Archive, and some of the "Game of the Month" articles still had the old Geocities background.

The Cameos Database is now its own Sub-Domain located at http://cameos.flyingomelette.com/. I separated the intro page from the other pages, and I've added submission guidelines. Please take a moment to read through them if you're thinking about submitting something. Also, the latest cameos entries will be posted to this index page. I also corrected the code errors in that section that were present after the last update.

I added some links to the Links page.

    Deathamster's Nest is back on-line.

Speaking of which, the staff of Deathamster's Nest is now going to help me keep the Cameos Database updated. Since Cameos is now a subdomain, it's possible, and easy, to do. I'm not sure how we'll divide up responsibilities, but it shouldn't be a big problem. (I've worked with and known these guys and girls on the internet a LONG time. They are very trustworthy people.) This is why the latest Cameos entries will be posted to the new Cameos Index page, because they won't have access to my main index page to announce updates.

The forums can now be reached via http://forums.flyingomelette.com/. That's a much easier URL to remember than p199.ezboard.com/blahblahblah. (Especially since the pub number is always changing with every ezboard upgrade.)

I cleaned up the Glossary. I reworded and retitled some entries for better clarity, and I removed some that were either too similar to other entries already posted, didn't make any sense to me, or were too specific to one event in one game. Please, for the love of all things triangular, STOP sending me stuff about Celes not being able to revive Cid in Final Fantasy 6!! It's no longer funny to point it out, and I'm tired of hearing about it!

I updated my video game, Transformers, and DVD collection lists.

That's about all the changes I can think of, other than the reorganizational changes, which shouldn't have any adverse effect, since all articles still exist and are still linked to. If you find any broken links or images or other problems, please email me and let me know. ~FO

    Update: 5/31/04

    *** FLYINGOMELETTE.COM IS ON TEMPORARY HIATUS ***

I have to seriously reorganize the site. It has become so big and is so disorganized that it's nearly impossible for me to keep updating it in the condition that it's in. I'm currently redoing the site on my hard drive. Once it's completed, I am going to delete the current version, and upload and launch the new version. There won't be any real noticeable difference except that, with the new version, the Kid Icarus Shrine and the Cameos Database will be fully functional subdomains. The changes are mostly being made to help me better and more easily maintain this place. I'm hoping to be done by the end of the week, but truthfully, two weeks is a more realistic goal.

Before I leave, though, I did update the Cameos Database one last time until my return. There is new and updated material for: Adventure, Beach Spikers, Biker Mice From Mars, Bionic Commando, Black and White, Breath of Fire 2, Breath of Fire 3, Bust-a-Groove 2, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Daytona USA, Dead or Alive 2, Dead or Alive 3, Disgaea: Hour of Darkness, Double Dragon, Double Dragon Advance, Dragon Ball 3: Gokuuden, Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 2, Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story, Dr. Muto, Duke Nukem, Duke Nukem 3D, Dynamite Headdy, Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem, Fallout, Fallout 2, Fallout Tactics, Fighting Vipers, Gameboy Camera, Ganbare Goemon, Ganbare Goemon 2, Gokujou Parodius, Guerrilla War, .hack//infection, Haunted Castle, In the Hunt, Iron Tank, Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy, Jikkyou Oshaberi Parodius, King's Quest, King's Quest 2, King's Quest 4, King's Quest 6, Kirby Super Star, Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards, Leisure Suit Larry 3, Lemmings, Lemmings Revolution, The Lost Vikings, Luigi's Mansion, Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga, Mario Paint, Mega Man 5, Mega Man and Bass, Mega Man Battle Network, Mega Man Battle Network 3, Mega Man X3, Mega Man X4, Mega Man X6, Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2, Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes, Metal Walker, Mighty Final Fight, Missile Command, Outcast, Out Zone, Panzer Dragoon, Parodius Da!, Perfect Dark, Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire, Power Puff Girls: Bad Mojo Jojo, Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure, Rival Schools, Robopon 2, Rocket: Robot on Wheels, Rygar: The Legendary Adventure, Sega 4-in-1 Tennis, Shadowrun, Shining Soul 2, Sonic and Knuckles, Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Space Quest, Space Quest 2, Space Quest 3, Spyro: Year of the Dragon, Star Wars Episode 1: Star Fighter, Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire, Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, Sword of Mana, Tales of Destiny, Taz-Mania, Terranigma, Tom and Jerry, Vagrant Story, Wally Bear and the No Gang, Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3, Wario World, Wild 9, and X-Men: Children of the Atom.

Also, I noticed after updating some of the pages that I made typos and mistakes in some of the code. They'll be fixed when the new site version is launched. ~FO

    Update: 5/24/04
We've got another Switched at Birth? article up. I'm still working on the Cameos database, and I should also have a review of In the Hunt for PS1 up before the week is over. ~FO

    Update: 5/20/04
I updated the Site FAQ. Please take a moment to read through it. Thanks! ~FO

    Update: 5/16/04
I added a review of Zoda's Revenge: StarTropics 2 to the NES section. ~FO

    Update: 5/15/04
Right now, I'm looking over old reviews and fixing typos and grammatical errors. (I also noticed that I used "etc." in my old reviews almost as much as Yul Brynner. I'm trying to kill as many of those as possible.) But, really...a lot of my older reviews are quite awful and are in desperate need of a rewrite. I still don't think I'm as good at game reviews as my boyfriend, Crawl and 1000, and I'm no Roger Ebert, but man, oh man, one thing I can say is that I think I've greatly improved since the beginning. ~FO

    Update: 5/14/04
This is the single biggest update to the Cameos Database that has ever been done at once. New and updated information has been added (brace yourself, this is a long list) for: Banjo-Kazooie, Battle Arena Toshinden 3, Bomberman, Bug!, Chocobo Racing, Contra: Legacy of War, Dance Dance Revolution, Dead or Alive 2, Defender 2, Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong 64, Donkey Konga, Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble, DOOM 2, Dragon Quest 5, Drakkhen, Duke Nuke'em, Earthworm Jim, Earthworm Jim 2, Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem, Fallout, Fallout 2, Fallout Tactics, Final Fantasy 6, Final Fantasy 8, Final Fantasy 9, Final Fight 2, Final Fight 3, Freedom Force, Gameboy Camera, Ganbare Goemon 2, Gokujou Parodius, Goldeneye 007, Golden Sun, Golden Sun: The Lost Age, Ikari Warriors, Kirby's Adventure, Kirby Super Star, Klonoa: The Door to Phantomile, Lemmings, Lemmings 2: The Tribes, Life Force, Lode Runner, Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete, Magic Sword, Maniac Mansion, Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, MDK2, Mega Man 7, Mega Man 8, Mega Man Battle Network 2, Mega Man Xtreme 2, Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance, Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes, Ninja Gaiden 2, Pikmin, Pocket Fighter, Pokemon Blue/Red/Yellow, Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal, Pokemon Stadium, Punch-Out!!, Pyramid, Revelations: The Demon Slayer, Samurai Shodown, Samurai Shodown 2, Samurai Shodown 4, Shadowrun, SimCity, Snake Rattle n Roll, Space Channel 5 Part 2, Spider-Man and Venom in Maximum Carnage, Spy Hunter, Super Hunchback, Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario RPG, Super Smash Bros., Super Smash Bros. Melee, Tales of Destiny, Tales of Destiny 2/Tales of Eternia, Tekken, Terranigma, Tin Star, Tiny Toon Adventures: Buster Busts Loose, Wild 9, Xenogears, and Zoda's Revenge: StarTropics 2. Also, a lot of entries for other games have been confirmed, but if all I did was say, "Confirmed by 'So-and-So'", I didn't include that in the list. ~FO

    Update: 5/12/04
In my haste to update my links, I accidentally removed a few links that I did not mean to. I've since added those back to the list. I also fixed a few broken links for sites that had moved. I added three new links. #1 is Eggerland - the one and only fansite (that I know of) for the Adventures of Lolo series. #2 is Thor J.R. Antrim's site. If you like the "Switched at Birth" stuff on this site, then you have to check this site out, because J.R. has a ton more of them. (And before anyone gets any bright ideas, absolutely NO submitting anything directly from that site to this one!) And speaking of which, I realize I'm backlogged on entries for that section again. So if you've submitted something, and it hasn't been put up yet, don't despair because I'll get to it eventually. #3 is Beckerfilms.com. This guy is an actual film director and used to work on Xena: Warrior Princess, of all things. His Q & A column is unbelievable. You've not seen a curmudgeony critic until you've read this guy's column and reviews. I disagree with a lot of what he says, but I can't stop reading the damned thing. O_o

In other news, I'm still working on the Cameos Database. It'll be a few more days before it's completed. I'll probably have it done by this weekend. ~FO

    Update: 5/8/04
I updated the A-C portion of Cameos. New submissions for Battle Arena Toshinden 3, Brave Fencer Musashi, and Bucky O'Hare. I'll be working on the other sections shortly. I also added one midi to the Kid Dracula review and one to the Jurassic Park review. ~FO

    Update: 5/3/04
I received an apology and partial explanation from one of the site readers who had previously emailed me about the Top 100 situation. Apparently, we have a prankster who is sending people the list via AIM and claiming that it's a "Best Games of All Time" list done by a professional site. I guess I should take it as a compliment that my crappy HTML skills could fool someone into thinking this is a professional site.

In other news, I updated my Ezboard Avatars Shrine. I added this month's pictures and a couple more signature images from the past. I also added a new feature, a page dedicated to Random Video Game & Transformers Artwork that I like. I don't expect to update this too often. Just every now and then I'll stick something unusual that I really like on there. ~FO

    Update: 5/3/04
I'm not sure what is going on here, but once again, I'm receiving a mysterious number of emails all pertaining to a single subject all at once. Two weeks ago, there was an incident where I was getting flames and complaints about the Cameos Database. Now, I'm receiving complaints about my Top 100 and the fact that I don't cover newer games on this site. Maybe because I just updated the Top 100? I dunno. But this seems to be the gist of the complaints I'm getting:

Q: "Why don't you have 'insert game title here' on your Top 100 BEST GAMES OF ALL TIME list?"

A: Where are you reading that my Top 100 is a "Best Games of All Time" list? It explicitly says that those are my Top 100 personal favorite games of all that I've played. I can't make a "Greatest Games of All Time" list, because I haven't played every game, and quite frankly, I think most of those professional lists are complete jokes. (Trust me, I'm not the only one who does.) If you want "X-Game" to be on a Top 100 list, then make your own, like I did.

Q: "Why don't you have any games for (X-BOX/PS2/Gamecube) on your list?"

A: Because I haven't played anything on those consoles for a significant amount of time. Why don't I have more interest in playing newer games? If you've read enough of my reviews, you'd probably know why. Many newer games have disappointed me...to the point that I get shied away from modern games and end up going back to the older stuff, where I consistently find more games that are worth my time.

The bottom line is, if you don't like the fact that I don't cover newer games, then why are you here? This is a fan site, a personal site, about me and the things I like. This is not an IGN clone. It's the equivalent of going to a Transformers site and complaining because they don't cover Care Bears. And if this is some kind of coordinated prank, be aware that you're not really accomplishing anything except making yourselves look dumb in front of a lot of people. ~FO

    Update: 5/2/04
I had to work, quite unexpectedly, almost all day yesterday, so there are no updates to the cameos database this week. I do, however, have a new Game of the Month for May, and a new "Website of the Month", which is ScreenMania - a good place to check out if you're looking for screenshots. ~FO

    Update: 4/29/04
The forums are working again. Just use the link I posted below. I also changed the link in the table to that URL, so it should work now. ~FO

    Update: 4/29/04
FlyingOmelette.com is currently experiencing problems with the forums due to an ezboard upgrade. The upgrade was supposed to have been completed by about 2:00 pm EST yesterday, and Ezboard's front page seems to indicate that the update is complete, yet the forums are either inaccessible or unbearably slow. I am hoping Ezboard is aware of the problem and is working to fix it, but it doesn't seem like it's happening to all servers, as some ezboards are working fine. I will give until 5:00 pm EST tonight for this problem to be resolved and if it isn't fixed by then, or there is no indication from Ezboard that they are working to fix it, I will issue a complaint. Sorry for the inconvenience. ~FO

The forums seem to work if you use this URL: http://p197.ezboard.com/bflyingomelettespalace. But it still takes too long to load for me. ~FO

    Update: 4/27/04
First of all, we have a new Caption Contest, and the results of the last one have been posted on that page, too. I also completely updated by Top 100. I removed Uninvited, Jurassic Park, and Diddy's Kong Quest. They have been replaced with Kid Dracula, Dark Savior, and Sword Master. I took off Uninvited because, although I think it's a good game, I didn't like it as much as Shadowgate, and I didn't feel I needed two games just like it on the list (especially since I also have Maniac Mansion on there.) I like Jurassic Park, but I'll probably never play it again, so it went, and I don't even really know why I put Diddy's Kong Quest on there in the first place. I only beat it once and I don't remember much about it, and then my saved file got deleted. I probably need to play through it again someday, but until I do, I'd rather leave it off the list. I've also added additional screenshots for many games, if I had an extra one lying around. I still need to eventually update the order in which things are listed. Because of how much things have been removed and added, the order of the last two pages is a little out-of-whack. ~FO

    Update: 4/24/04
BTW, I forgot to mention that all entries marked in yellow will be deleted one week from today unless they are clarified or proven true before then. Please note that just because something is marked "unverified" or "unproven" doesn't mean it will be deleted. Unverified or unproven entries are just that...unverified or unproven. I don't have time to verify every single entry (and I can't verify entries for games I don't own), and some entries, no matter how likely to be true they may seem, simply could not be proven unless someone who worked on the game confirms or denies it. Only entries marked "vague", "false", and some marked "coincidental" will be removed (ie, the ones marked in yellow font.) In other news, I'm starting a new front page feature. I'm going to post links to five current "Hot Forum Topics" of interest at the top of this page and they will change every few days or so. Remember that FlyingOmelette.com is as much a community as it is a website, and everyone is welcome to join our discussions. ~FO

The entire Cameos Database has been fully updated into the new format. Also, many screenshots and sound files have been added to previous entries, and information has been added, corrected, and updated for many more. ~FO

    Update: 4/18/04
Page 5 of Cameos is done.
Corrected the entry for Legend of Legaia on Page 4 of Cameos. Sorry for the mistake. ~FO

    Update: 4/17/04
Page 4 of Cameos is done.
Page 3 of Cameos is done.

Page 2 of Cameos has been updated the same way the first page was. I also added new entries. Because of the amount of work I did, I don't feel like listing them all. Just look for the little yellow "NEW" graphics. ~FO

    Update: 4/14/04
Now that I'm through venting at people, I thought I'd let everyone know that I have completely reconfigured the first page of the Cameos Database. I have a new system of organizing and explaining cameo entries. I've also added some new ones. I'll be doing this for all the Cameos pages, but it's very time-consuming. I'll let you know as each page is updated. ~FO

    Update: 4/13/04
I just wanted to put in a quick note that I'm busy updating the Cameos Database. Along with adding new entries, I'm going to be removing entries that have either been refuted or are way too vague. A number of people have sent me emails refuting some entries. I thank you for taking the time to do so, and I especially thank those who have done so with politeness and in a thoughtful, intelligent manner.

But more and more lately I'm receiving emails regarding the cameos that include phrases such as, "You're an idiot!", "You're stupid!", "You must die!", and my personal favorite, "Remove the section for (insert game title here) because it's a load of crap!" without giving one single plausible rebuttal to anything posted in that section. If that's the best argument you can come up with, then leave this site, because you are not intelligent enough to be here and you will get nothing out of it. You can convince me a lot more of your arguments if you leave such phrases out of your emails, and if you explain exactly why you feel the entry you're disputing is wrong.

There are plenty of other sites out there that pander to idiocy. This one will not. ~FO

Before things go any farther, let me point out the three entries I get the most rebuttals for:

Spider-Man - Quasimodo is from Star Trek, not Star Wars.

A number of you have been polite in pointing out this mistake. A number of you have been not-so-polite in pointing it out. However, as I stated in the corrected entry for that section, you are all wrong: the name Quasimodo originated in The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and if Star Trek or Star Wars has used it, then that's where they got it from, too. The fact that the battle takes place in a belltower further proves my claim. CASE CLOSED!!

Everything in the Final Fantasy section is crap

Oh really? Would you mind giving a thoughtful rebuttal to "everything" that you think is false? Or are you trying to tell me that Square spontanesouly thought up a trio of enemies called the The Three Dream Stooges named Larry, Curly, and Moe and it's just coincidence that a TV show called the The Three Stooges with main characters of the same names existed beforehand? Or that all the creators of the world's ancient religions were psychics who could see into the future and stole the ideas of their gods from Square's espers? Really. Please just go away. You're giving Final Fantasy fans a bad name.

Conker's Bad Fur Day - You're reading too much into things.

Okay. You got me. Despite the fact that those lines of dialgoue are exactly the same, verbatim, as the movies the database claims they are from, and the movie parody aspect of the game was one of it's MAIN SELLING POINTS, I'm just reading too much into things. Thank you. Without your clever insight, I don't know where I'd be.

As a final note on this subject, I'd like to stress that most people who have sent in rebuttals have done so very politely and intelligently. Even in cases where I disagreed with the rebuttal, I still appreciate taking the time to email me your thoughts. It's just messages like the ones above that are annoying and aren't accomplishing anything. If you don't give reasons for why you think the entry is wrong, then I cannot just take your word for it.

Before I remove any current entries, I will highlight them in yellow. This will give anyone who thinks the entries should remain a chance to write in and tell me why they should.

Many thanks to all those who have kept the database going and made in a success! ~FO

    Update: 4/12/04
Another Switched at Birth article has been put up. ~FO

    Update: 4/10/04
I added a review of Dark Savior to the Saturn Section. ~FO

    Update: 4/10/04
I've completely redone my links page yet again. I've removed a lot of links to sites that didn't have this one linked. (If yours was removed and you want it back up, add my link and contact me, and I'll get it back up for you.) I dunno. I guess I was just getting tired of having such a huge links page. I also reorganized the other sections, and any site that has a link exchange with this one now has a brief description. ~FO

    Update: 4/09/04
I added Game of the Month for April. ~FO

Results of Caption Contest 8 are up, and a new pic has been added for the Current Contest.

    Update: 4/06/04
Another Switched at Birth article has been put up. This should give you an idea how backlogged with entries I am that I was able to crank out three articles in three days and I'm still not done. ~FO

    Update: 4/04/04
I finally added a screenshot of the Ebisumaru Coin to the Kid Dracula section of Cameos 4. I had to take it with my Capture Card because I couldn't get past the elevator level while using a keyboard. ~FO

I added a new Switched at Birth article. I'm very backlogged with submissions, so be patient if yours aren't on this one. They'll be included in a future edition if they aren't. ~FO

Updated the Glossary with 5 new entries.

One more Switched at Birth article for you today. ~FO

    Update: 4/03/04
I updated Cameos 4. I have new entries for Kirby Super Star. But mostly what I've done is add screenshots for some games. I added screenshots to Kagero: Deception 2, Kickle Cubicle, Kid Dracula, Kid Icarus, Kirby's Dream Land 3, Legend of the Mystical Ninja, and Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. ~FO

I updated Cameos 5 with a new entry for Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour and screenshots for Maniac Mansion, Metal Storm, Metroid, and Metroid 2.

Update Cameos 2. New entries for Dark Savior, Donkey Konga, and Earthbound. Screenshots added to Dark Savior, Earthbound, Equinox, EVO: Search for Eden, Fester's Quest, Final Fantasy 4, and Final Fantasy 6.

    Update: 4/02/04
My goal right now is to get both my inbox and my site submissions forum completely empty of stuff that's been submitted but not posted to the site yet. I'll announce my updates as I go along: #1. Finally got a picture of the Lofty Mountains Neko courtesy of site reader Cory Thompson for the Secret of Mana Oddities page. (We're still missing some Nekos, though. I'll get them eventually.)

Oops. New site of the month is GameWinners.com. I feel GameWinners is the best site for finding codes, hints, and strategies for games.

    Update: 3/28/04
I added a review of Sword Master to the NES section. ~FO

I made a small tribute page to my Ezboard Avatars. Don't ask me why...I don't really know why. I guess I just thought it would be neat to keep a history of them. ~FO

    Update: 3/22/04
I added one more Cameo for Goldeneye 007. ~FO

    Update: 3/21/04
Added DoDonPachi and King of Fighters 95 to the Cameos Database...

Added entries for SaGa Frontier, Samurai Shodown, Samurai Shodown 2, Samurai Shodown 4, Samurai Shodown 5, Skies of Arcadia, SNK vs. Capcom: Chaos, Solaris, Sonic Heroes, Soul Calibur 2, Star Ocean, Super Robot Wars, Tech Romancer, Turok: Dinosaur Hunter, Ultima 7: The Black Gate, and Ultima 7 Part 2: Serpent's Isle to the Cameos Database...

Added entries for Virtual On: Oratorio Tangram, Wario Ware Inc., and Worms Armageddon to Cameos...

And finally fixed the background on the final Cameos page. I didn't realize it still had the old one. That section should be completely up-to-date now. In other news, I've added the winning entries for Caption Contest 7 and put up the new picture for the current contest. Also, I was going through old emails and realized I left out a submission from site reader SonicLover for Caption Contest 6. Although I normally do not add new entries to completed contests, that submission was sent before the contest was over, and its omission was my fault. I apologize for the error and it's been added. ~FO

Oops, I forgot one Cameos entry for Dark Savior. That's been added. ~FO

And added one for Magic Sword that I just receieved today... ~FO

    Update: 3/20/04
I updated Cameos A-F again with new submissions for Ayrton Senna's Super Monaco GP2, Elemental Master, and Final Fantasy 6. I think I have those two pages up-to-spec now. I'll start working on the others. ~FO

Added entries for Galaxy Fight, Goldeneye 007, and Gotcha Force in Cameos G-I...

Added JoJo's Bizarre Adventure to Cameos J-L...

Added entries for Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga, Metroid Fusion, and Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water to Cameos M-O...

Added entries for RoboTrek and R-Type 2 to Cameos P-R. I'll have to finish the rest later. Getting late...and I'm getting tired...~FO

    Update: 3/14/04
I updated Cameos pages 1 and 2 (A-F). There are new entries for Breath of Fire 2, Earthworm Jim 2, and Final Fantasy X-2. ~FO

    Update: 3/14/04
I finally put up Game of the Month for March. ~FO

    Update: 3/13/04
Not much today. I updated the Site Directory and added a link to Skeezy the Claims-Jumping Clam to the Game Humor section of the Links page. This is one of the funniest humor sites I've seen in awhile, especially the Star Wars stuff. I'm also no longer going to be putting links to outside sites on my game reviews. It's just something I don't feel like doing anymore and because I'm very anal about being consistent, I'm removing such links from all past game reviews. Besides, when I do "Game of the Month", I link lots of sites pertaining to that game, I don't need to do it twice. And speaking of which, I should have March's "Game of the Month" up by tomorrow. Sorry I'm so late with it, but my job is driving me nuts. I also fixed a picture that had mysteriously disappeared from one of the "Switched at Birth" pages. ~FO

    Update: 3/7/04
Small update to the Tetris vs. Zanac article with a contribution from The Almighty Guru. ~FO

    Update: 3/6/04
Page A-C of Cameos has been updated. See what's new for Battle of Olympus, Breath of Fire 2, Capcom vs. SNK 2, and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. ~FO

For those of you wondering what the heck happened, last Saturday, I lost access to this site, and I didn't regain access until a couple of days ago. Then I had to work a lot of overtime again, so I couldn't update. Well, I'm finally getting back on-track. First of all, new website of the month is The Jaded Gamer, a good site for game reviews and other neat stuff. A couple of people I know, RoyalRanger and FlowingMindspin, also write for this site. I've also updated my About FO page. I added two more pictures of myself, and I added a brief explanation of my internet history. I mentioned awhile ago that I was going to do a feature on my favorite movies for the site, but I don't think I'll get around to finishing that anytime soon, therefore, I put a list of some of my favorite movies back on the About FO page, too. I also had to remove the stuff about Karnov the Rat, since he has passed away. I'll probably be making more updates, and I'll post them as I get them done. ~FO

    Update: 2/22/04
I added a review of Kid Dracula to the Game Boy section. ~FO

    Update: 2/21/04
Well, as you can see, I didn't get all those updates I promised done. Over the past week I have been sick with the single worst case of the stomach flu I've ever had in my entire life. That, and I was still working a lot of overtime on my job. I finally managed to complete a few things today, though. First off, an update to Things We've Learned From RPGs with a contribution from site reader SonicLover. I also added the winning entries from the last Caption Contest, and added the new picture for the Current Contest. I also reorganized the table to the left a little. "Forums", "Guestbook", and "Email FO" are now under the new category "Interactive". Finally, an update to Oddities 27: Hidden Music & More with a contribution from site reader Black Jack (Mike Waters). ~FO

    Update: 2/10/04
The Cameos Database has been updated with new entries for Art Alive, Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg, Bug!, Capcom vs. SNK 2, Crash Bandicoot: The Huge Adventure, Dark Savior, Earthworm Jim, Final Fight 2, Guilty Gear X2, Kid Dracula, Knuckles Chaotix, Le Mans 24, Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga, Mario Party 5, Mortal Kombat Trilogy, Motoko Chan no Wonder Kitchen, Out Zone, Rad Mobile, Ready 2 Rumble Boxing: Round 2, R-Type Final, Sega 4-in-1 Tennis, Shining Force 2, Simpsons Hit and Run, Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, Sonic Heroes, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, Streets of Rage 3, Super Mario RPG, and Viewtiful Joe. ~FO

    Update: 2/9/04
Umm..oops. If you saw that "Friends of FO" in the table to the left, that wasn't supposed to be there. I uploaded the wrong version of the index page. Sorry about that. However, those links can still be found in the "Friends" section of my links page. I'll probably have in a real update tomorrow night, unless I have to work overtime again. I watched Casablanca tonight, so I had no time for an update. ~FO

    Update: 2/8/04
I'm still on a bit of a hiatus here, because my workplace is still making me work a lot of overtime, but I do have a couple of updates. First of all, some new entries have been added to the Aliens Switched at Birth article, and a link to CB007's Game Reviews Archive has been added to the Links page. Expect more updates to other portions of the site, such as Cameos, Things We've Learned From RPGs, Switched at Birth, the Video Game Glossary, and some more game reviews within the next few weeks. ~FO

    Update: 2/1/04
New website of the month is RPGClassics.com. This is an amazing site with complete shrines for many RPGs and Adventure games for many different consoles.

A new Game of the Month for February is up! ~FO

    Update: 1/31/04
Well, I said I'd have one final update for today, and I do. I finally put up the results of the latest Caption Contest, and there is a new picture up for the current contest. ~FO

    Update: 1/31/04
I have a few more updates. I added a new Switched at Birth article to the Oddities section. I also updated The Kitchen Sink, separating the humor stuff from the other stuff, and there are now links to my DVD list, Transformers list, the Shnoo's Eyerie (where I submit my poetry), and a new page for my Joke Game Ideas. I might have one more update before the night is over, but don't hold your breath. ~FO

    Update: 1/31/04
I added a review of Pac-Man to the Atari 2600 section. I also updated the Site Directory, and a new page has been started for the 2004 Update Log. (The old Update Log was getting too big.) I also fixed the main page of the Kid Icarus Shrine. It looks much nicer now, and you don't have to scroll down to get to each section like before. When I first made the Kid Icarus Shrine, I didn't know enough about HTML to undertake such a project, and I did the whole thing in Netscape Composer. Natrually, it came out looking a bit sloppy in some areas. Now that I've learned so much more about HTML, I've been trying to fix that area of the site up as much as possible. ~FO

    Update: 1/29/04
Folks, I have finally discovered the meaning of life:

    And there it is! ~FO

    Update: 1/19/04
I updated my DVD List and I added a review of Two Crude Dudes to the Genesis section and a review of Virtual Hydlide to the Saturn section. ~FO

    Update: 1/17/04
Cameos has finally been updated! Generous thanks go to Mark Kelly aka Fryguy64 of The Nintendo Database for submitting a ton of entries. And thanks, also of course, to everyone else who submitted entries. Update: 1/14/04
Can you believe I actually got around to uploading another Switched at Birth article? ~FO

    Update: 1/11/04
I'm over a week late with it, due to my hiatus, but I've finally got Game of the Month for January up. I also uploaded my DVD Collection. Not much yet, but it's growing. ~FO

    Update: 1/5/04
It looks like things might be getting back to normal at my job. _Thank Goodness!_ But in the meantime, in case anyone is interested for whatever reasons that'd be beyond me, aside from writing game reviews, I also write songs from time-to-time. I'm not exactly the best lyricist in the world, but if you want to read any of them, you can check them out at The Shnoo's Eyerie (External Link). I know that seems like a blatant plug for my friend's site, but that's where I'll be submitting my poems to be posted on-line from now on. ~FO

    Update: 1/4/04
In taking a break from the rest of the site, I've managed to get two new reviews finished and uploaded. Conker's Bad Fur Day is reviewed in the N64 section (and I have to warn Conker fans that I was sorely disappointed in that game), and I added a new section for Sega Genesis reviews, complete with a review of NBA Jam (should be no surprises there.) After this, don't expect too many more updates for awhile. I'm not sure how things are going to go with my job this week, and if it's as bad as the past few were, it may be awhile before I can do anything else. ~FO

    Update: 1/3/04
As per my last update, I have been languishing through some really hard times, due to the ridiculous amount of overtime I've had to work the past few weeks on my job. It is bad enough to not get much time off for the holidays, but to have to spend so many extra hours working left me feeling depressed and unrested, and I'm not sure there's an end to it in sight yet. Dealing with both the internet and my job at this time has not been easy, but it's difficult to give up entirely when you live with someone who is also very into the internet and is always encouraging me to go back to it. (Thank goodness I have him, or else I don't know what I'd do.) I still consider this site on indefinite hiatus, in other words, things like Cameos, Caption Contests, Switched at Birth, and other sections that are open for submissions will not be updated for awhile. I did, however, put up a new "Website of the Month", the Unofficial World of Nintendo. It's a faily large site with lots of good Nintendo-related stuff, and imo, it's better than Nintendo's official site. I also added a couple of more things to that Game Music Oddities article for Paladin's Quest and Super Ninja Boy. Also, this may not be of much interest to anyone, but I thought I'd post a list of my and Crawl's Transformers Collection. ~FO
